- Soulfuse costs have been tweaked as such:
-- Base cost now depends on the equipment's quality tier. Peerless cost 100, Legendary/Magnificent 50, Exquisite/Superior/Fine 25, and Average and below 10. (These are now "final", in the sense that the old base cost of 100 was only reapplied to Peerless gear.)
-- The cost for fusing items above your level is now +2% for every level, and the limit for how much higher the equipment piece can be was increased to 100.
-- There is no longer an additional cost for fusing items below your level.
The old rule for lower-level gear created a bad incentive to stop leveling until a player could fuse all their gear (despite the meager increase in cost), so the rules have instead been better focused on the primary goal of soul fusing, namely enforcing gear progression.
The change makes sense, unlike the shortsighted original design for soulfusing, which really screwed me (and others around my level and lower, I'm guessing) over. My only post on the forum pertained mostly to my displeasure about it in the 0.82 thread (where I initially decided to not play again). Instead, I just played normal RE's for soulshards, which was an utterly ridiculous way to spend time in HV. On top of that, my single post caused me to get tens of thousands of additional xp
that I didn't want each dawn of the new day. It was irritating.
So, maybe a week or two ago I soulfused my 6th piece of gear (out of 7) and, with xp no longer a real issue, started to play at the difficulty level from before the utter mess of 0.82, and it's actually sort of fun again. The changes of 0.83 seem to be a decent fix for most of the things I hated about 0.82, in addition to some extra perks people have been looking for, with easy single-click maintenance in places. Thanks, Tenboro
The new equipment still sucks, though. (IMG:[
