Since I never really stick to "point releases" for E-Hentai + Galleries, I'll just be putting changes in this log rather than leaving them as stealth changes.
HV updates will still be in the HV Updates forum, and H@H releases and other major releases/news/updates still get their own thread here.
(Updates that only affect the backend/aren't visible to users won't always be listed here if they weren't fixes for visible or reported bugs.)

2015-12-15- Fixed an issue when visiting the Donation screen where you could get a timeout (and locked user for a few minutes) if the exchange rate needed to be updated and BTCharts was slow or unresponsive.
- Cut the three least significant digits from BTC spend amounts, as they make up less than a cent. (They are still visible and will still be credited.)
- When using the "Show Tagged Galleries" option on a gallery, the search string copied to the search pane will now be properly quoted if necessary. (This only affects the behavior if you change something with the filter and hit "Apply".)
2015-11-30Full rework for how user-specific stats are stored and processed. It now uses less database space and resources, and is much faster to process. (~1 minute for the toplist, down from more than 10 minutes.)
Note that while this should not cause any significant changes to how the toplist looks right now, some changes (especially for torrent seeding) can have some effect on the next run.
One major change is that now, the yearly and monthly toplists no longer reset at the end of the year/month. Instead, they cover the last 365 days and 30 days, respectively. This brings it in line with how gallery stats have worked for some years now.
2015-11-24- Added more solid broken image detection to image uploads.
2015-11-20- Added a hard restriction to how many posts new accounts can make on the forums. (And it still doesn't unlock anything.)
- Because of backend changes, the "User CP" on the front page has been phased out. Logs are still available
here and
here. Credit transfers are currently only via MoogleMail.
2015-11-14- Increased the number of full downloads allowed by the archiver to allow for more failed downloads. Instead, it now counts unique IP downloads to prevent link sharing.
- Fixed reloading a broken image with R/numpad 5 not working properly.
- Added tagging keyboard shortcuts. These only work when a tag is selected:
W/Numpad 8: vote up
S/Numpad 2: vote down
A/Numpad 4: show all tagged galleries
D/Numpad 6: show tag definition
Space/Numpad 5: clear selection
2015-10-27- H@H hath gain rates have been fully revamped and will no longer reward splitting up a server into multiple clients.
Raw measured speed is no longer a factor; the gain is now fully determined by the actual hitrate and effective number of static ranges (which again is limited by storage capacity and speed).
The daily gain is now set as 1 base hath, + 0.15 hath per average hit/minute, +0.01 hath per static range. (If quality drops below 5000, there is a linear reduction in the static range gain to reflect the reduced utility)
There are no longer any caps to the maximum hath rate.
These changes will overall greatly award long-lived high-capacity clients, as those are the most useful for the network. Other clients shouldn't see significant differences from before, unless the assigned storage space was extremely low compared to the speed.
- The implicit penalty for low-traffic clients with "close" IP addresses is no longer necessary, and was removed.
- Average hitrate is now smoothed over a whole week rather than a day, to prevent excessive fluctuations caused by traffic load. (The variance might still be somewhat larger than before.)
- The maximum number of allocatable static ranges per client was increased from 2048 to 3072.
2015-10-11- Excessively long tags+aliases are now cut off for display purposes to prevent stretching the tag pane. Hovering over it will show the full tag.
2015-09-27- Corrected bounties in the "Reserved" state not showing up with the "Bounties Posted By Me" and "Bounties Boosted By Me" filters.
- Updated and modernized some button interactions and CSS.
- Added tag aliasing functionality. Tag moderators can now promote a single slave tag to be shown alongside the master tag on the gallery page.
2015-09-26- A readout for "Cover" was added to the H@H global status. This number indicates, on average, how many times a given static file range can be found within the region.
- Added a readout for average hits per minute to the H@H client status.
2015-09-25- Fixed "Reload broken image" button in MPV mode not working as intended.
- Slight tweaks to H@H routing for Asian visitors.
2015-09-18- Added functionality to allow reservation of bounty claims.
- Fixed bounty search form forgetting type/status after searching.
- Removed the 24-hour bounty lock for bounty accepts.
- Various minor bounty layout tweaks.
2015-09-13- Corrected some gallery comment linkification edge cases.
- The tag namespace identifier no longer counts towards max tag length. This prevents an issue where a tag using the namespace shorthand would be accepted while the same tag using the full namespace identifier would not.
2015-09-06- .hathdl files now have namespacing for the tag list.
- The .hathdl generator will now detect and prevent the use of reserved Windows device file names, which if used would have caused downloads to fail on Windows platforms.
- Added support for excluding results by uploader. -uploader:name, -"uploader:name with space" and -uploader:"name with space" should now all work.
It is currently still limited to one uploader.(By design, this can only be used to exclude an uploader from a search. Searching just for -uploader:name will act as a normal uploader search.)
- Added support for multiple uploader: search terms. These will include all results from a number of uploaders or exclude all results from a number of uploaders, as specified.
(As it makes no sense to both include and exclude uploaders in a single search, using the negative search operator before any uploader: term will treat all uploader: terms as negative.)
2015-09-05- Expunge and comment downvote power was capped to 30 + any base bonus you may have been assigned.
2015-08-30GP awards for comments has been changed from a silent background per-comment calculation to a "participation award" that's granted as part of the dawn event.
Like the old system, it will count positive-score comments longer than 100 chars from the last 30 days.
Unlike the old system, it is based on the "best" comment per day, to avoid encouraging poor-quality comment spamming.
The rewards cap at 20 comment-days per month.
2015-08-23- Fixed bounties not returning the claim deposit if a claim is voluntarily withdrawn.
2015-08-20- Fixed a rare issue with triggering the "harvester block" when running H@H.
2015-08-13- Filenames for the "Download original" function was also missing the extension, now fixed.
2015-08-12- Fixed missing file extension readouts in some displays, caused by a bug introduced by a recent update.
2015-08-07- Fixed a couple of logic fails in the rename tracker filtering when set to "renamed".
-- It would mistakenly exclude recent renames if there were also recent alternative/pending renames.
-- It would mistakenly include pending renames if there existed an old successful rename.
- Added proper pagination to the expunge and rename trackers.
2015-08-06- The daily toplists, except for individual galleries, no longer count towards the EXP bonus. (The all-time, yearly and monthly user toplists and all gallery toplists still provide the bonus as before.)
- Bonus tiers for the remaining toplists was changed to correspond to the coupons, at a 50/25/10/5 rate.
2015-07-21- The API for retrieving gallery metadata now takes an additional argument "namespace" which if set to 1 will include the namespaces on all returned tags.
- When using rename petitions, entering the exact same name as an existing petition will no longer error out. Instead it will add a vote for the existing petition.
- Previously, rename petition votes were blocked if the vote was already above 100, unless there was a higher-voted petition. This rule has been amended as such:
-- You can always vote for a rename option if the existing score is below 200. (The rename is still applied at 100+).
-- You can also vote for a rename option if there is another rename option higher than 100 points below its current score, excluding your existing vote if any. (So if one option is currently at 150, other options can be voted on as long as they are below 250.)
2015-07-19- Fixed a minor bug in the H@H core where clients could be assigned new static ranges while they were offline, provided that they were recently online and didn't shut down correctly. (This usually wouldn't be a problem, unless you were trying to clear them.)
2015-07-16- Changed default text field content to use the HTML5 placeholder element instead. (Doesn't work in older browsers, notably IE before 10.)
- The torrent search page was reworked.
-- Brought all elements to the center to match other search functions.
-- Applied some form trickery to make filters work better.
-- Changed links for usernames to point towards the torrent upload list instead of the gallery upload list, in a way that preserves other active filters.
2015-07-07- Various typographical/formatting/readout fixes.
- Fixed broken linebreaks in the post bounty to forum functionality.
- Fixed searchers for usernames with underscores on the forum when searching for posts and adding users to the ignore list.
- Unavailable gallery operations should no longer appear in the Gallery Manager when opening a collapsed folder.
- Comment/folder updates can again be done from the modify screen on galleries that are locked due to old age.
2015-07-02- A new "janitor" server was deployed, splitting that functionality from the upload servers. Between that and the H@H changes, it's now a lot easier to take the upload servers down for updates and other maintenance.
2015-06-30- Three new command servers were deployed for H@H, splitting that functionality from the upload servers.
2015-06-20- Fixed a problem with the H@H core handling where a server could be stuck in the "online" state if it didn't shut down properly, and therefore be refused to connect again until certain memory records expired. This was introduced by the June 2nd changes.
2015-06-06- The new archivers didn't properly set the TCP send buffer size, which would have caused slow transfers for people with moderate to high latency.
2015-06-02- Corrected some buggy H@H core handling where clients could erroneously be set to "online" in some circumstances.
2015-05-31- Added UI and internal logic to allow removing static ranges from H@H in order to reduce the allocated disk space. (Prior to this change, you would have had to remove all static ranges before you could reduce the disk space.)
2015-05-30- Six new archivers have been deployed, with a total capacity of 6 Gbps and 1.2 PB monthly data transfer.
2015-04-08- Fixed a bug where archive uploads could break if a certain maintenance script ran right as it was processing. (Basically, the script is designed to get rid of old files, but files that are extracted from archivers would keep their original modify time and therefore appear as being old.)
2015-03-21- Various layout changes, primarily to the gallery page, aimed at increasing usability and navigability particularly on mobile devices.
- Gallery covers are now somewhat larger. These larger covers are still being generated, and are currently available for galleries with an ID over 385000. It will take another week or so to generate the rest, and they will eventually be used elsewhere as well.
- Significant improvements to the gallery screen when viewing at narrower widths.
- New and easier to click buttons to select thumbnail size and row count.
- The page number below gallery thumbnails is no longer displayed by default. The page number is shown when hovering over a thumbnail. You can also turn it back on from the settings screen.
- Comment voters are no longer displayed by default. The default behavior is now showing them by hovering or clicking the score of a comment. You can revert to always showing them on the settings screen.
- There is now just one link to the external code generator. You select a code type from the generator itself, and it will remember and default to the last one you used.
- The old size field was split into File Size and Length, and a gallery with any resized files is now indicated by a "RES" in the filesize field.
- Translations and rewrites are now indicated by TR and RW respectively.
- The commenting field is now the same width and font as the actual comments, which should make it easier to format a comment.
- Improvements to the pageinator logic: should now never use the ... cell to represent single pages.
2015-03-10- Fixed some issues with the new EHTracker cluster where some torrents would show up as "not registered".
2015-03-08- A new cluster for EHTracker was deployed.
2015-03-03Login security changes2015-02-xx- Many internal optimizations to how the cluster's shared memory cache is used.
-- Notably, this means that H@H accesses now count towards the image limit, but the image limit was significantly increased.
- Comments that go below -50 and are downvoted by the gallery owner, and comments that go below -100, are now completely hidden.
- Fixed one issue that could make H@H clients randomly end up in the timeout state for a few minutes due to a race condition between the still alive test and a maintenance script.
- Fixed one issue where people who can make new tags could make invalid and unusable tags through creative use of colons.
