It only gives oc for the first counter.Permastance is one broken thing that covers for another broken thing. Can't change one without changing the other. If people really want permastance, it should be very expensive and prohibitive to obtain.

"Fast frail mage, slow stable melee" is a decades old and bad dichotomy that doesn't even fit with this game. People play the most profitable difficulty. If the rewards did scale with time, people would call 1H what it is - broken.

Really doubt mage is "more boring" at around lvl300 (well, pfudor is mildly challenging at least, but I keep that for the weekends when I'm at home lazying around).
At 310, imperil has no cooldown and hits three targets.
Imperil, one spell, next round. Two if they dodge or resist. If you lower the difficulty or have top gear, you don't even need imperil. Infinite potions? Even better. At least before, you were forced to economize if you didn't want to spend all night tapping, and before that you didn't gain anything for using focus.
