I myself don't really appreciate being told that Exq is trash, when it's the best I can ever get at my level. And I'm certainly investing the maximum of credits into my drop rolls training. Either some people are forgetting what they've been through to be where they are, or they have never had the trouble I've been through since I started playing 1 month ago.

I can barely afford playing the 3 first arenas on Nintendo/Hell difficulty to have the tiniest chance of getting a Leg, without risking to find myself killed during the arena. Don't forget that you need decent stuff before being able to obtain the ultimate stuff. When I have something like a prefixed superior, I'm already very happy with this.

As far as I understood, this update was meant to make it so players obtain and use the equipment suited for their level. If me using only Sup and Exq equipment around my level is supposed to be the case, then I'll say that the update succeeded.

Working as intended. But what is decent for a level 142 player would obviously be "trash" for a 400+ one.

To be fair, those people are not forgetting what they've been through, but they enjoyed use of Free Shop equipment. The Free Shop provided new players from levels 30 - 199 with donated not-great-but-above-bazaar-level Superior, Exquisite and even Magnificent and Legendary gear. At least one silly person enjoyed Free Shop equipment so much that she contrived to stay below Level 200 in order to be able to continue using the shop. The patch requires players to be very flexible with their build to match with their self-found loot, but that approach only works when all styles are balanced. Somebody else will be spamming IWBTH/PFUDOR and level like crazy because they luck out with a decent force shield, while you're stuck in Nintendo with a sub-optimal 2H-set. Maybe 10b should let us choose the type of equipment drop to fix this unfairness?

Nah mace 2h was popular for quite a while before 1H really took off. I still remember going into a 10m bidding war for a freaking mag eth mace of slaughter, which I fortunately lost. The turning point happened when people learn that OFC make 1H's clear speed as fast as 2H (this discovery pumped pony's price to 100k apiece at one point)

I got my first set of exq power slaughter (which I used with Estoc before switching to 1h) for only 500k. I made quite a profit back then selling them for 5m later on.

Before 1H era, only rapier of balance was expensive due to DW, rapier of slaughter used to be in the same "meh" category as rapier of nimble. (as in, poor-man's DW offhand). People even experimented with club and axe, even shortsword for a bit (iirc, you mass-bought axe of slaughter at some point) before unanimously agreeing that rapier of slaughter is the best 1h mainhand.

Nope... 1H was OP long before that... kite and tower of barrier was enough for it.

I cleared every arena on PFUDOR as soon as it was introduced (except SGs 'cause it was too time demanding), with kite of barrier and I was around Lv.280... Overwhelming Strikes and infinite Spirit Stance is what always made 1h op... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hogwash. Back in my day we walked uphill both ways to the arena. There was no equipment, so we went naked through the snow and punched monsters in the face and died every battle. It built character.

clear bonus is not considered drop, as in, it's not affected by drop training and difficulty the same way regular monster drop is.

-Dont expect big changes after finish the training stuff: i have almost everything (9/10 archelogist, the only missing) and i dont get "GOOD" stuff... only superiors.

Technically I could, but I find asking for stuff on the edge of the level limit is a bit...unsuitable

Meh, I don't expect big changes either with maxed out training. That will still help me later on, a bit.

I got the luck to find two ethereal shortswords with unassigned level in the bazar 2 days ago (one having upgrades, so lucky!). They really help to clear the arenas super fast, and to mow down the bosses in RoB. I was using two shocking Sup before (the only prefixed 1H I had), but they weren't enough for max power. I don't know who sold them, but I'm very grateful.

I switched from 2H+Heavy armor when I reached the potency cap, to DW+Light, and I don't regret it. I was much more fragile in the beginning, but in the end I go much faster, because i just do 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in the arena. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I still watch the bazar regularly, but I rarely see anything above Exq in there. So expecting an unassigned level Mag... dream on.
