I have crunchbang running on an old shit laptop of mine and for my main rig I have windows 7. I ran 8 for a while and when it worked it worked fine. However after screwing up my user accounts and making it so that I couldn't do anything I went back to 7 and haven't had any problems.

I had no use of their metro interface and really it just interfered with my work flow. I wonder how many businesses they drove to apple with 8?

Windows 7 and I hope it would be supported for another ten years, WIN8 is too inconvenient for me.

Yeah, I know. My mom got a new computer and when I updated it to 8.1 it wouldn't let me use the internet on any browser other than explorer and even then it wouldn't even load wikipedia/facebook or her work 80% of the time so I went back to vanilla 8, got Start8 and everything was golden. I would have gone to 7 but I didn't want to worry about the warranty should things go wrong again.

7. Never seen the need for a unix distro of any kind. I play too many games to want the hassle of wine and it's overhead.

Windows 7. I don't plan to change anytime within the next years since I don't find 8 to be good.

Windows 7. I've managed to get the installation down to 17.5gb total. Use a program like FolderSize to sort by size. Delete the bloat (be very careful with what to delete by checking every potential candidate for deletion online). No SSD and my boot time is down to 18 secs.

Dual-booting Debian Sid and Windows 8.1 on my laptop. My desktop is running the same setup.
I wish Linux had solid replacements for the MS Office suite and for Adobe Creative Suite. With those on Linux I would swap over 100%
