I had basic on my netbook. I agree it's rubbish. Not being able to change your desktop image. Luckily I have home premium on my laptop/notebook so I could upgrade right away.

I mainly use Win 7 for programming and web browsing. Everything else, like gaming is on XP.

I'm using Vista Ultimate at home.

Actually if you have adequate knowledge about security model (including policy settings) in Windows, you'll hit little to none problem with UAC enabled. And it makes me feel safer when surfing net with whatever browsers.

It's nice to see the taskbar in Windows 7, but just don't have enough motivation for me to upgrade the OS. (That'd be a huge recofiguration task!) Maybe I'll move on when the next time I upgrade my hardware...
