1x (U.K) Raspberry Pi3 Model B running Xubuntu 16.04.3 (armf Distro) and Retro Pie 4.3.
Retro Pie is quite simple to set-up and maintain. Sometimes however if you config
multiple controllers in Retro Arch and Emulation Station, the emulators can have a hard
time picking which config.txt to read (i.e Controllers dont work). Ubuntu in general
is rather buggy on armf chipsets (Being Very Modest). An in addition to this, the software
suites are often incompatible. However Xubuntu is far more stable and reliable for general
computing in my experience and has a much wider range of software available. Not perfect
,being honest, but seriously impressive considering the hardware and XFCE desktop environment.

It depends. But after using Linux for years, I am aware of the stability of Windows GUI.

stability of Windows GUI.
Probably only because you never needed to build something that is portable with it (e.g. configuring some menu features in gVim). Windows UI is only more stable than GTK3, and GTK3 is as stable as a chair balanced on a single leg on top of a christmass tree, on the back of a truck speeding through a bumpy road.

Those are both fair opinions.

Debian Sid (unstable). MATE desktop 1.18.
Haven't had anything fail horribly on me since 2014 when I brought it upon myself. I much prefer Debian (or basically any unix-like system that isn't Mac OS) to Windows.
