It's been a while but I believe Hallowed used to confer benefits to other stats besides holy EDB; however, this hasn't been the case for a very long time.

This staff is now totally worthless - mismatched prefix/suffix, and Katalox is hard enough to sell as it is. Plus it's level 500. It's wood. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I have seen players alternate holy and dark spells, there where even some videos about someone finishing the IW on an Holy\Dark staff.

This is not viable in modern times. Zebra mage isn't used for the damage (and trying to split damage only hurts you, significantly).
