It sort of is and sort of isn't.

Trophies have their own quality points, which is what affects the rare type roll. (This is basically how luck of the draw works.)

If the ratio between cotton and phase (rare) is not as good with noodles or lower, then perhaps it is better to go for staff/weapon in between Snowflake peerless?

Unless you are just going for HGC, which might make more sense with all the Magnificent you would get.

For noodles, you would generally just go for whatever you're trying to FoS for normally. It's a real long shot but noodles are incredibly inefficient and basically only worth using for ultra-rich players who can no longer buy anything with their credits, because the things they want to buy don't exist to be sold (specific peerlesses). There is also an extreme trophy shortage now due to too many FoSers, so none of us can get what we want in any reasonable time period.

Neither, it's just for average credit value in the shop. When I am shrining for FoS, I want to get back as many credits as possible, to fund more trophies.

I used a script to harvest data from my credits log, and after recording >100,000 equipment sales, the results showed cloth (average+superior+exquisite) to have an average credit value of 450 (34385 sales counted, haven't harvested in a while).

Light is slightly lower (447), and heavy 436. Staff actually has higher (480) but I would still rather take my chances on getting some valuable cloth legendaries than staff legendaries (these days even matching staffs are often worth next to nothing).

This is exactly what is happening on HVMarket. Trophy prices are artificial.

Also, only noodles were more expensive back then, iirc.

The game could benefit strongly from a shrine donation option: even at 1:1 it wouldn't be silly, with 0 equips generated to recoup the cost. And t would be a huge credit sink, which HV sorely needs to address wealth inequality.
