Please don't spread this misinformation; mystic does in fact offer quite a bit of damage.

The largest problem is that mage damage is delivered as area of effect - therefore, there's no turn gain unless ALL monsters in the round die faster - but criticals still offer a decent amount of damage for those pesky giants with a bit of luck, and certainly on schoolgirls if nothing else.

But only a fool would turn away a high quality mystic in favour of a shitty radiant.

(also, comparing it to staff IW is a completely disingenuous argument for supply reasons if nothing else...)
