Well, it is the only CR staff option for fire mages. Also since the rolls are decent it can be worth something even if its not as good as a redwood.

Fire/Cold Oak Focus have lower stat than Redwood in terms of MDB, EDB and Elem Prof, Redwood is much better for Arena, Oak Focus shows some advantages in GF IW only.
