blame the market for considering certain valuable pieces not worth selling or auctioning so they end up in the trash, such as this gem: Legendary Ethereal Mace of Balance
ideal prefix/suffix, the only stat that leaves anything to be desired is attack damage, and that's the least important factor when considering a mace

That would be the exact opposite reason to consider when using a mace.
A mace is already behind an estoc for the proc, and behind the longsword for the adb.
The only real utility for a mace is getting the highest adb possible and investing all the IW in butcher and fatality, where the other weapons cannot, since they need to use 4/5 potencies for overpower.

maybe if you play on a low enough difficulty that you might as well use a longsword. no thanks

maybe if you don't mind getting parried multiple times in a row or getting off less stuns so you have to cure more often. no thanks again

2h weapons of balance = garbage

maybe if you want to micro-optimise your clear speeds to the maximum. i can't comment on that since i have a lot of forging ahead of me before i can compare my speed with others. but if you just want to coast through the game at your own pace without a worry in the world, maximum attack speed and stun rate are your friend
