imo, there'll always be spam threads. we should allow the mods/admins to just give out warning & maybe short-term bans for people spamming stuff without content.

What if you just label threads that don't count toward post counts for the exp thing, but don't tell anyone. That way they can pretend to be doing something spamming those threads like the fighting style and difficulty and shit.

But I do wonder what people who don't know English will do now; I mean, besides the few who'll try and fail to get away with using a bot.

It was impossible to detect bot posting by the post content with those threads allowed.

That said, you can hide bot posts just as well in these:
General Chat > What's the last thing you've eaten?
General Chat > The Weather Thread
General Chat > Chinese thread (note the interspersed dawn XP posts and posts meaning effectively "daily post"
General Chat > What did you do today?
General Chat > How do you feel today?

The "post a pic" type threads can be used with only a little more work, e.g. periodically stocking a folder with candidates. But you don't even have to do that; your script can just pull a random pic from danbooru and post it to the themeless thread, or a random pic from derpibooru and post it to one or the other pony thread.

I'd suggest making people solve a captcha for their first post of every day. (A site-local one, please, not a Google captcha, or I'd have to quit, since I boycott everything related to that privacy sink in Mountain View.)

People who don't know English can make a thread for their language, e.g. we have a Japanese thread, Chinese thread with some genuine content, and a Thai thread. But to moderate them, you'd need moderators who spoke each language and had the time every day.

IMHO legitimate shrining results + what did your monster bring you + equipment thread resullts [provided the user is being transparent about he rewards] gave the attentive n00BS with a perception about how much gambling is being undergoing in the HV casino so to speak / opine.

labeling these 3 threads even with there spams as "TERROR SPAMIST" and nuking / carpet bombing them will only result in loss of some pretentious info if any.

PS this is more of a drainage / plumbing fixing scenario . Lets hope the backlash sludge of these closed sewage don't seep into other neighboring canals.
