Likely an artifact of not using rdtool.

Here's an odd one: going from 1.2.2 to this and now alt-tabbing full screen games (mostly dark souls 2) randomly makes the client crash maybe 1 in 3 times. Log_err is empty, log_out looks pretty typical and just cuts out in the middle of the last line.

^ 1st update to latest H@H, there are several advantages to it. 2nd monitor your memory usage, likely you're hitting some memory threshold.

Stop talking for the sake of talking and go empirically test stuff.

Couldn't get it to die properly again but this time it blew up the heap after about 9 hours running, throwing about 50 OutofMemoryErrors per second for half an hour before I saw what it was doing and killed it.

Your shitty game is probably hogging all the memory and winblows is swapping all that data to ram and cockblocking your h@h.

Hi, how can I troubleshoot by myself first if the hathdl stop download?
I check I have +1000 trust for this 1.2.5 client but with low Quality
It already run for 4+ hours
It can earn Hath and GP
I can use Hentai@Home Proxy
I see the log_err & log_err.old and have the follow error

Thanks, will try to run as long as I can, I ask this because I usually use that client for the hathdl It stop download at some day But when I use another client (same ISP with same group of IP under same firewall rule), it can download all the hathdl (which have less log_err) so I don't know is anything wrong with that client, is there any command I can run to refresh and check the cache or something....... Oh OK, it isn't a plain new client. Sorry for that. give a try with --verify_cache, i.e. java -jar HentaiAtHome.jar --verify_cache <whatever elese you use) Also try deleting the file client_login before you restart. This: CODE 2015-04-18T05:26:32Z [WARN] Invalid kvPair: keystamp%3D1429335000-a06cfe3eda 2015-04-18T05:26:32Z [WARN] Invalid kvPair: keystamp%3D1429335000-a06cfe3eda 2015-04-18T05:29:09Z [WARN] Invalid kvPair: keystamp%3D1429335300-bf37b4b43a 2015-04-18T05:29:09Z [WARN] Invalid kvPair: keystamp%3D1429335300-bf37b4b43a does not look good. And the only kvPair that (i suppose that) can be used at this point of the startup is the one stored there. Also, remove the line that has your client key from your post: CODE 2015-04-17T18:32:48Z [WARN] Exhaused retries or aborted getting http://rpc.hentaiathome.net/clientapi.php... (i mangled it here)

New to linux. Trying to run Hentai@home but I keep running into this error.
"The database could not be loaded. Please check file permissions and file system integrity."
Checked permissions, they look fine to me. -rwxrw-rw- 1 nobody users 6144 Apr 19 03:15 hath.db
drwxrwxrwx 2 nobody users 4096 Apr 19 03:17 data
Help
edit: Seems to be running under user root. Anyone know how to change permissions under another user? Looking it up as I type although, stopping the client now to mess around with that probably isn't a good idea. Any disadvantages just leaving it running under root?

Looks like your Hentai@Home folder is owned by the group 'users' with permissions set to 'nobody', that's most likely what's wrong about it. Would also explain why it only runs as root. Execute this on the Hentai@Home folder to take control of the files: 'sudo chown yourusername:yourusername -R /pathtohentaiathomefolder' It should then run under your username no problem. No sudo needed to execute. As for why running programs as root is a bad idea? It's because it gives software unhindered permission to do whatever it likes to your system. It doesn't even have to be malintent, it could simply be a (rather moronic) programming error that deletes '/' instead of the directory you told it to. Is the program run in the user space, then that action would have resulted in 'permission denied' errors instead of a now empty linux partition. Tried that and it didn't work. Now it won't run on root either. edit: Add more details. Changed the owner to hath and group to hath. It runs HentaiAtHome_1.2.5.jar fine but I still run into the same error "The database could not be loaded. Please check file permissions and file system integrity." Log off and tried to run the same thing on root. It's unable to run. I change all permissions in the directory back to owner nobody and group users and it runs like it should under root. Post all the steps that you take, i.e. all the commands you type, I bet you're just starting it in the wrong place.
Also, do some ls -l as you change directories so we can see your filesystem layout.

Started with user root. Went to the directory which stores the directory HentaiAtHome_1.2.5. Entered "chown -R hath:hath HentaiAtHome_1.2.5" Checked directory and contents with ls -l. All says owner hath, group hath. Login to hath. Went to the where HentaiAtHome.jar is stored. Ran it with "java -jar HentaiAtHome.jar" and it errors out. Typed "exit" to logout from hath. Tried running HentaiAtHome.jar again with the same command above. It's unable to run. Changed permissions back owner nobody and group users via "chown -R nobody:users HentaiAtHome_1.2.5" Checked the permission of the directory and contents with ls -l. They all changed correctly. Ran HentaiAtHome.jar under user root and it runs fine again. edit: This is done on debian. sudo isn't recognized. This post has been edited by chise87: Apr 19 2015, 23:53
