my H@H is still at 1.2.0 Stable. do i need to upgrade to 1.2.1?
also i have totally no idea what the patch notes is talking about so for a user who only runs 1 H@H client, higher static range is better cos more hath per day?
also how to increase static range? assign a bigger cache size?

QUOTE(hentai_fusion @ Aug 30 2014, 15:08) my H@H is still at 1.2.0 Stable. do i need to upgrade to 1.2.1? If you run the clients on VPS, or restarts them often, yes. Or maybe not. See the update note here, nothing major. also how to increase static range? assign a bigger cache size? Bigger cache size, better network, and wait several months... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) This post has been edited by LostLogia4: Aug 30 2014, 09:37

The bug you mentioned in 0.304 ("- Fixed settings reset when visiting a page on the uploader.") still exists. The row settings reset when visiting the uploader.

I wish I could get constant lines like that. H@H Speed Tests test at only 1/4 my actual upload speed and it never caps, even with a large cache of recent popular galleries. It seems servers are given a strong preference over home clients, regardless of actual capabilities.

So is this the new rebalanced called by Tenb? Yep, seems like it. More files served/available to serve, more hath. This post has been edited by blue penguin: Aug 30 2014, 18:07

Could be one has more static ranges than the other, but since you didn't include IDs I couldn't tell you. QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Aug 30 2014, 17:36) I wish I could get constant lines like that. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Aug 30 2014, 11:15) Not really, it's just in Asia. I don't know what's wrong then. Oversaturation of clients for actual traffic I guess. I generally get the same behavior even during peak US hours. Just 20%-25% faster.

Yes, the top one[14262] has 130 more static ranges than lower one[14113]. Before this patch, the lower one can get 12+ /day, even 13.75 (the speed cap). If static ranges is the reason, the new clients with low static ranges like the lower one get punished, they do high file output but get lower hath now. Just because they are not old enough.

QUOTE(morineko @ Aug 30 2014, 19:17) Just because they are not old enough. For 14113, it's not because it's not "old enough" but because the cache was reset at some point. Those clients are a bit of an outlier case since it's unusual to have that high traffic without having more static ranges. I'm going to take a look at the Asian clients in particular to see if the changes skewed them unfairly. Edit: Isolated to Asia-based clients, there was indeed an unintended drop in hath due to the relatively higher rate of traffic compared to the number of static ranges. A 25% bonus to Asia-based clients was added to adjust for this.

QUOTE(Ichy @ Aug 31 2014, 02:38) woot I never used this since im always using servers. Friendly reminder: using outdated H@H as image proxy on VPSes could end up hogging more CPU load than your providers would allow you to. Reason being H@H was rigged with a bug which causes the threads to pileup; if you really have to use it, just update to the latest H@H version. Is there any way to influence how quickly static ranges are assigned? Are there any limitations on assigned ranges related to cache size/utilization? I noticed about 76% of my current cache is used by static ranges (assuming still 250MB/range), which is good I guess, but I'd be happier with more of course. Basically, I'm wondering if there is a way to increase them more quickly since I only appear to get 1-2 new ranges per day. I still have 180GB being squandered in addition to my vast bandwidth under-utilization. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

^ uh oh watch out. start generating hath any higher than you already are, and you *gasp* become one of those "hath dragons" you love to ridicule.
btw, thanks Tenboro for this update. Now at a higher hath generating rate, I'm should be able to pay off all my debts in a timely fashion.

QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Aug 31 2014, 12:01) Is there any way to influence how quickly static ranges are assigned? Are there any limitations on assigned ranges related to cache size/utilization? The number of total ranges allowed is hard limited by cache size (1 range per 125 MB), and the assignment rate is hard limited to one every 12 hours. The main reason for the latter is that the files aren't tracked individually by the server, so to stop people from exploiting that by deleting cache files from static ranges, requesting a static range file from the image servers will slightly reduce a client's trust. If a client were to be assigned ranges faster than it currently is, it could easily overwhelm the trust regen and make it untrusted.

Hitokiri only had one client afaik, so he can generate up to 20 + some dawn-of-the-day haths daily from his aura point award thingies at best. You on the other hand is one of the leading Hath dragon, second only to Stonycat in fact. Anyway, what's the minimum number of client, Hath generation rate and toplist ranking do you need to be officially become a "Hath dragon" anyways?
