Instead of having a free X downloads per day, how about having it be free x downloads per week, calculated over sliding 7 days? I'm probably in the minority that checks and downloads galleries over the weekends so that would mean I'm missing out on 5 days worth of free downloads that I would've gotten from weekdays.

Don't worry, I believe that is exactly what Tenboro means with "averaged over a week" here:

Depends how download crazy someone was. I think could have downloaded 80gigs a day if I felt like it, usually I downloaded like 5-10 archives a week. It would have been possible for people to go mental and download all the hentai 30-40tb, but now its not feasible.

It seems that more users prefer to view gallery through H@H rather than download it. Maybe it's a good news.

I liked seeing that i now have 20 thumbnail rows when i clicked on a gallery this morning.

- The default maximum number of favorites was increased from 500 to 1000. The old first tier of More Favorites was therefore removed. The old second tier was also removed, but it will still work for those who previously bought it. The old third tier (5000) is now the first tier.

I work hard and translate works, that way I've amassed a sizable GP pool which I use to download works. Previously, it would last me months worth of downloads.

With this stupid update, it'll be burned through within a few weeks. Because apparently I'm no better than a bot for downloading a lot.

Guess there's always torrents, but personally, I hate this update.

Still have to download quite a few doujins that were upped in 2013 to complete my futa library backup but seeing how costs for some of the older galleries (some of which I couldn't find anywhere else on the net but here) basically exploded (75.000 GP for a 150MB manga really (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ) this might be a tough game even with the about 17.000.000 GP I have left (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) .

Being a scanner and commissioner I too put quite a bit of money into this site in a certain way (by purchasing, scanning doujins and paying for their translations) even if I haven't donated yet because I can't get the hang of the BitCoin system (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) .

So yeah something just doesn't feel right (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/faint.gif) .

Yeah, we're basically second-class citizens now because instead of donating money directly into the site via BitCoin(which I hate), we used that money to bring exclusive stuff.

Awesome! I use the favorites to archive whatever I think may be interesting if I'm busy/not in mood for that. I was just about maxed out.

-- Archives for galleries that were both uploaded more than a month ago and that have not been downloaded for more than a month, and are therefore unlikely to be cached, now have a higher cost to reflect the work of recreating it. (In other words, this will not affect the ~175000 most popular galleries or anything posted the last month.)

I can see the reason this was implemented, to prevent abuse, but it really screws over people interested in works that happen to be less popular and/or those who download (honestly) frequently. There aren't torrents for everything, so this can't always be circumvented.

Is there no better way this can be done?

I've spent over 600$ on translation commissions from Saha, which first thing went into this site. I've also spent many hours translating works myself. Which also went first thing into this site. I do not upload anywhere else.

Now what's the bloody point for me to even bother commissioning or translating works myself, if the amount of GP I get will only be enough to download about 10-20 works that were uploaded more than 3 years ago.

At this point, because things went full retard, I don't see any incentive to commission or translate works myself. I'm guessing you're thinking the same thing with scanning and uploading works here.

The point is that we had working autonomous mechanism proven by years, where people participated in this resource, scanned, translated, shared doujins all the time, others paid to get it. We had stable prices for hath and GP and everyone could afford an archive of 50mb or more. Now credits are 10 (!) times cheaper and that's the only change. If you don't have daily bonus (and even if you have) - prepare to slay tentacles few weeks before you can download what you like.

Actually, this update motivates to use scripts even more. Think about it.
