I'm not using H@H because my connection speed sucks (oldschool DSL, again there's worse out there, so I'm not complaining but rather telling people in the two or three-digit Mbps range to go cry us a river) and I would automatically fail at the speed test. I don't download archives unless I don't have a choice. I use torrents.

GP supply and demand is mainly regulated by the lottery of the day. Pack downloading doesn't come close to the traffic caused by lottery. These 2 recent lottery (yesterday and the day before yesterday) basically sunk 370m GP and 83m GP, respectively.

That wasn't even close to what I actually thought. Shit. And people still complain about archive costs when they can spend that much in some minigame gear lottery? Think I once bought stuff from skillchip and never even used it back when I played that stuff.

Seriously, if you are new and don't have a cookie (wasn't even aware having that cookie was some kind of Catgirl-tier privilege to some people), then just upload a gallery, torrent a popular gallery, write informative comments and reviews on galleries (such as circle/author/artist information, or disambiguation to help solve conflicts - hint: "hello guys" or "wow i came buckets" are not informative comments)... This is not an exhaustive list. Tenboro even made it a bit too easy with the sample tag that was likely intended for limited use, but is possibly causing occasional trouble. (The actual impact isn't confirmed.)

Or, you know, if all else fails, you can always support the site and donate, but don't ask here and clog up the thread even more, see the related thread and the wiki, thank you.

Maybe mentioning "this applies to everyone" or something helps. Or embedding dancing ponies and flashing colors on top of every important post, but then that'd mean there is a really, really big problem.

Pareto principle dictates that 99% of those GP came from 1% of the userbase. They complain a lot about the game though and lobby even harder for changes

Heh, I can't even buy neither hath or kGP because of 'insufficent credits' even though I have well over 100,000C/100 hath. This is why I liked the old GPtoC method before that got abolished.

The GP Exchange doesn't work for you, SXIndy? Also, yes, the new system does slightly penalize you compared to the very old fluctuating ~10 GP to 1 credit system, but you should be able to buy at least 1k GP if you have at least ~200 credits. (The auto-archiver also used to default at 5:1, if people want to go aaarrrgh even more. But it was very different back then.)

My Home > GP Exchange > Buy Count: (insert amount) > Bid price per kGP: (insert bid) > double-check and click Buy GP!
The transaction will be done instantly if there's at least one offer (cheaper ones get priority) matching your bid, or delayed until one appears. At the time of posting, 219-220C as bid is reasonable if you want a large amount immediately.
