I have a separate browser, Pale Moon (supposedly Firefox stripped of bloat), that I use only to play HV with. The only Extension installed is Greasemonkey, and the only user scripts I run is HVStat with all in-combat options turned off except for low health , mana, and spirit warnings.
I still get only about slightly more than 1 turn per second.
I don't know what else I can strip down or change to increase my speed. It's pretty frustrating watching the page have to load for a full second for every individual attack. I'm sure there must be others suffering from this, so any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

If it is network issue, nothing you can do. To find it out, you can get the ping, and the rounting. If your ping is lower than 250ms and you still find it slow, it is problem of your computer. Then, your computer may: - too old too slow? - too many script running at the same time? - some script, especially virus/adware, using your network? - shit browser? - shit OS (e.g. windows vista) - cannot think of other, someone please add. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Basically, just install a linux OS (dual boot if you do not want to affect the current OS), and play there should fix most of the speed issue. Haven't tried VM under MS Windows so I cannot be sure. You may want -Fedora (common bundle of linux OS) -Ubuntu (another common one) -CAE linux (if you also want to play around with some scientific simulation program) This post has been edited by Colman: Jun 13 2014, 05:23

I'm actually trying a setup with VMing in MS Windows with dual monitors so I can watch movies and stuff while doing HV. I couldn't get VMWare to play nice with Ubuntu though -- Everything was slowed to a crawl. Maybe I should try VirtualBox instead?
But anyways, I was just wondering what are the bottlenecks other than connection speed, and what kind of setup I need to get decent turns per second.

You can watch movies and stuff while doing HV in most of the linux desktop. You should boot to Linux OS if you want speed. VM under MS windows will just make it even slower than the MS windows. You know, VM in MS windows meaning you run a linux OS within the MS windows. If your MS windows is infected, the speed of VM will also decrease. To solve the problem without understand how thing work, just do a fresh install. BTW, you may want to try a lighter script that having HP warning. https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showt...p;#entry3047702change the warning hp% by youself in the setting (edit the text file before use) If you also want the MP/SP warning, add them by yourself (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) This post has been edited by Colman: Jun 13 2014, 09:21

Assuming the ping is fine i would go with the following steps:
- disable greasemonkey and test if it goes faster -> if yes change to a lighter script like Colman said - disable other scripts/plugins/addons(especially if there is a antivirus one) then test -> if yes test whitch one and disable it permanently - open the taskmanger and look if other programs start using gpu while you play -> if it is your antivirus tell it not to bother your browser ->> if there are others and you dont need them maybe you can them off on windowsautostart
since my pc is quite old that helped me quite a bit. my hit/sec rate went up by 25-50% after i disabled HVStat and another 25-50% after killing a plugin from my antivirusprogram and denying adobe to search for updates automatically.

Maybe your network is slow, or disable all extensions and other programs before change your browser.

I've made two scripts to increase play efficiency, which can be found here.

Try using a mousemelee script (attack when hovering over a monster) (link for the one I use is in my sig). Also, I recommend NoPopup (it auto-skips the "You are victorious" popup). For more scripts, go on the wiki.

Your script is totally sweet, nihilvoid. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It's a wonder why HV isn't natively AJAX-based already. That's probably because Tenboro lacks the time to work on it and prefers to focus on the main site, which is understandable. Oh, also, xenexegesis, you should use custom fonts (in Character > Settings). My font settings are Cambria/9/bold/normal/-4. This post has been edited by Dan31: Jul 19 2014, 19:09

I have 2~2.2 turns/sec, and I can't find anything different playing with nihilvoid's script. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Maybe this is because I have an old computer? Also, I feel like I have 2.5 turns per sec. Are you using a mousemelee script? Maximize APM?
Put all your queens on one control group. 1) Backspace 2) V 3) Click your hatch > Repeat 1-3 until all injections are complete. Shouldn't take more than a second or two.
Keep your build queues on separate keys so you can just hold the unit production key down to cap out. Make sure to never have surplus resources.
Extractor trick will take a few seconds off your roach rush if you do it properly. If not, it delays you by like 15 seconds. Practice practice practice.
Oh wait.

Yep, mousemelee is my best friend forever. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And there's no difference about turn/sec between with and without mousemelee. This post has been edited by Cats Lover: Jul 20 2014, 04:44

Alright, maybe I'm a bit faster than you because I am closer to the HV server (I am French, and the server is in Europe if I recall well).

Not that tiny in fact. Last time I have been in Netherlands. I though the hotel is close to the train station and decided to walk there. It took me 2+ hours to reach there with a rather fast walking speed. And it took me another 2 hours for walking to the nearest super market. When I asked someone one on the way. He just told me: "It is not that far away. Only two blocks, and it should be on your left.". But I found that two blocks seems unreachable. In the Netherlands people assume you will cycle to wherever you're going.
