Many kids like those things, but they do not know how it work. They can only use the script/complied programs from their friends*. As a result, they will get caught, but the damage they made (to us) are not refunded.

People who know how it works and still do it take even more enjoyment, it's like a mindgame against the webmasters; each side tries to anticipate the other's tactics. Sites with weak security only serves as their stepping stone to becoming more skilled

And then there's a segment of professional people (99% of which came from the aforementioned hobbyists) who make a living off playing for both side of the game, and call themselves security engineer (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

This very security consultant you're hiring today to fix a new exploit may very well be the same person who launched the attack on your website yesterday, but he covered his tracks so well you'll never know (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

BTW, if someone really want to find the hacker. The hacker will be found, at least for the location of access. It is because all of the address must be included in the header. Well, but something in the middle must be somehow broken. So it will take a very long time to trace.

I dunno... most people got into HV for the porn credit, not for "fun", and most will promptly retire after their first mil (come to think of it, I should retire too (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) ). There's exception, but they only constitute of 10% of the playerbase (but 90% of total HV playing time, and obviously 90% of the resource) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Also, have fun fending off botting, DDOS attack, and general hacking. A lot of people take fun from those kinds of activities (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif)
