Click on Pandawhore's sig at the bottom left where it says Video and look at the end of the link up in the URL. It has the &fmt=22 thing that forces the clip to automatically play in wide screen when you click on it. When I do it to YouTube videos it doesn't work.

According to the page you linked the user would've had to upload an HD quality video for that to work. I'm assuming the video in question is HD? Also, isn't there a button on the bottom right next to the volume control for HD?

Yeah. At YouTube in your settings you can have it automatically play in HD* if the video was uploaded to play that way, but I'm talking about automatically having it play in wide screen when you click on the link, say, in a sig. Try to change a YouTube link using &fmt=22 (if the video was uploaded to play in HD wide screen) and tell me if it works for you. It obviously worked when Pandawhore did it, but I can't get it to do it.
