Imagine a game with simplest graphics possible, indeed, ascii art like Nethack, but with finite number of locations, storyline, definite ending - and all this being polished for 15 years.
It's solid, if you like this sort of game. It's deep. The way its inventory works, and what you can do in it can surprise you constantly.
Edit: Hmm, not whole 15 years it seems, closer to 10 years of ideas, and last 4-5 of them writing the game. Still, one of the best roguelike games.
