QUOTE(LordDyhalto @ Jan 27 2012, 00:51) I could be argumentative again and challenge FourThirteen's stance on that picture being "a horrible philosophy" based on Good and Bad being subjective to the eye of the beholder.
But then I'd be being argumentative again.
I could respond that regardless of the relativity of good and bad, the implication of that picture is that a person would be choosing to do something that they themselves believe is bad, and my stance is that a person who would willingly choose to do bad or evil things even though they know better probably does not deserve the freedom to do so. But I guess you're not being argumentative, so I won't respond with that. QUOTE(Aspire4740 @ Jan 27 2012, 08:17) It definitely wasn't meant to be funny, but the topic does have a debatable point. I just happened to come across the poster & decided to post it.
Does our upbringing & surroundings play an instrumental part on the path of life we choose?
I had a friend, who in his childhood days, coming from a bad neighborhood, was forced into the gangs just to stay out of trouble. Kind of ironic, you might say - join the gang, stay trouble free.
He did some time for gang-related activities, got rehabilitated & served as a counselor to young kids from his neighborhood. Such is the parody of life. Sadly, he was killed in a traffic accident a few years back.
I still disagree, but that whole discussion is far more constructive than a rather bold and polarizing poster. I fail to understand how one is "forced into gangs to stay out of trouble." Gangs cause trouble most of the time. Maybe I'm just unclear on your meaning. By forced, do you mean he was threatened with violence or worse from said gang if he wouldn't agree to join?

QUOTE(Deathscythe_X1 @ Jan 26 2012, 10:14) Hi guys o.o, long time no see xD
Either way, you guys must be feed up and all with this sopa/pipa/acta shizz, but I am just wondering, and be warned, it might be a very silly question xD. But, will this affect somehow e-hentai's galleryes?
Hey! is Death! Hi Death, good to read you again, as far as it goes it shouldn't affect the site but the quantity of the uploads of the doujins might or might not diminish, only time will tell.

If I were a debating man, I would say that people do what people do. 'Good' or 'Bad' are moral labels defined by the society at large. So what happens if you, individually, believe the values of the society to be immoral? Is it better to be forced to accept genital mutilation as normal and right, or to choose against it? Is it better to be forced to obey your brutal authoritarian government at the expense of your peers, or to choose to resist? The point is that it's better to choose to do what you do than to be forced into obeying what is accepted as "Good". But I'm not a debating man, so I'll refrain from saying that sort of stuff.

You don't need to open every post with how you're not argumentative, Lord Douchebalto.

I do that a lot, too... :/
I remember a shrink calling it "self-depreication-shelter", a form of defensive mechanism(obviouzsly translated, probably incorrectly).

It's more a way of saying "I'm not being an asshole, I'm being a passive-agressive asshole."

Haro haro xD. And oh o.o... well I was thinking of something that if it is passed, most of atleast "many" of the actual uploaded stuff would have to be deleted =s. But well on another topic. What's everyone been up to?

I need to start making those membership cards... You're missing my point entirely. We're not even talking about the same thing. The society's values are irrelevant. If a person has their own moral compass, their own definitions of things that are good and bad, and makes a conscious choice to betray their own moral compass, that is a very bad sign. What I took away from the image was somebody who completely understood why what they were doing was wrong, but chose to do it anyway for the lulz. Now, if that was not the intended message of the image, then my point is... well, pointless. Edit: But of course, you're not a debating man. We're not talking. We're just... talking. Edit x2: QUOTE(Deathscythe_X1 @ Jan 29 2012, 21:37) Haro haro xD. The site has always had plausible deniability when it comes to copyright infringement. It's one of few things that really made me respect Tenboro. The point of SOPA/PIPA/ACTA/ONOMOTOPOEA is that a copyright holder could call for a shutdown of the site's DNS. Deleting galleries would only be helpful as a preventative measure for such things, and it could still happen anyway because this is a user-content-created gallery and users never read the fucking rules regardless. Anyway, I'm close to finishing my degree. If I can just break the unproductive winter funk I've been in, I'll have a diploma in the spring, and more importantly a growing portfolio to show why I'd be an awesome game developer. I see =o. Ty for making that a bit more clear xD And good luck with your diploma man. I wish I was atleast near to getting mine to, and on the top of that this year started off with a bad kick for me, shortest vacations ever 1 week. Alexis Cerezo who's the Drummer lives in Argentina. But as far as i know they haven't went there. their most popular songs are Interna Externa, Selene and this one La Comadreja y El Tulipan.
