Wasn't Robbie Pie formerly Itagaki? Fuck knows, I wasn't on here for about a year until recently.

Today, I saw two ravens sitting way up in the palm tree across the street. One was making a racket and squawking its brains out and the other one was enormous and just sitting there making gestures like it was dry-heaving, like this and this. I've never seen that before. So I guess they were doing mating rituals. Fuckers are loud. I almost yelled out my window for that one to shut up. I've actually done that before. And yes, I know they're highly intelligent birds but they can still be annoying. Instead of yelling out my window, I repeatedly clapped my hands together really loud hoping to scare them away but they couldn't hear me over the freeway noise so all I did was sting the palms of my hands.

IIRC, arsoft guns are legal everywhere in the states.....[Gives advice he himsel would never follow] Try to ask them nicely, instead of immediately yelling at them, in the end, they're new neighbours..... I'd call 'em Huginn and Munnin(Not sure if correct spelling) and get them to become my pets. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

My brother used to feed the crows in this one house he used to live in that was near a wooded area. They would wait for him every morning and if he slept in, they would start making a lot of noise to wake him up. He also made friends with a fox. When he moved away, those poor animals probably wondered where he went.
I see crows and ravens everywhere. I saw some crows today on my travels. Crows are a bit smaller and ravens are big and have shaggier feathers and thicker beaks. They're usually picking some crud out of the road or flying overhead. Right before sunset, I always see a huge murder (flock) of crows flying west to roost for the evening. Where they all go, I have no idea.
One time when I was out in the backyard, I saw a lone crow flying above me and I did the loudest CAW!!! and that startled it. The crow actually flinched like a person would as it was flapping its wings and then it looked down at me all pissed and kept on flying. It was so funny.

I once saw a Bunsh of crows doing something that I imagined to be a democratic process (I know, how naive! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)) There were always two or three crows on one side and the rest on the other side, and then they switched places and switched them again... and rom time to time one or tow crows were staying with the fewer ones. Maybe they trained a parade or mating dances.... Or did some warming up before a long journey..... Or a territorial dispute, civically solved.....

I saw a show about crows on TV and they're really intelligent. They remember people they don't like and do like and they have a lot of weird behavior. If someone does something to one crow, they'll go back to the other crows and tell them about it. Social birds like that can be a lot like people. They squabble a lot, too. We have falcons and hawks around here, too. I saw a huge greyish colored one perched on the fence in the backyard once and it was amazing to see one of those close up. Every once in a rare while, I'll see a pair of hawks floating up high in the air on the updraft that comes off the freeway. I had a parakeet some years ago (my cat had caught it and brought it to me uninjured so I ended up keeping it, I think it was an escapee from the neighbors) and I put the cage out back so it could get some air and when I looked outside, there was a falcon sitting on top of the cage. No that was my brother who befriended a fox. He moved to the East Coast in MA several years ago and it was a red fox he made friends with. I'm on the West Coast in Southern CA. We have a lot of illegal Mexicans here. We also have canyons scattered around and we have small gray foxes, racoons, skunks, opossums and an occasional coyote that might wander through. They've developed all the canyons and fields out east of here so they tend to come into the residential areas. EDIT: I fixed your oxes. YES, YES, Yes, I got rthat right already! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I just used those foxes as an example for the least wild animals that could reside in our area QUOTE I'm on the West Coast in Southern CA. We have a lot of illegal Mexicans here.

Yeah, those canyons that's somehting that I'd love to see o the west, the southwest, that is.... ..... But I was thinking a bit more locally, though..... I assume you live in a village or suburb, you also told of power outages, and I doubt they're that frequent in urban areas.....

I saw two cats recently, too. One was across the street in a yard and I saw another one somewhere else as I was driving home. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) This post has been edited by Tenseigamoon: Jan 5 2012, 20:39
