One of the anime shows from the 2016 Spring Season is Haifuri or High School Fleet. It happens to be one of the best that I have seen in awhile. I don't mean best in the absolute sense. I guess I should rephrase that. It is one of the most entertaining shows this season. It starts out very easy going. Two girls vow to grow up to be Blue Mermaids. Haifuri takes place in a time that might be a century or two in the future. It might have given a date, but I wasn't paying to much attention. The visuals are great with a very pleasing color palette. It presents itself as an anime for girls who dream of taking on roles that have traditionally restricted to males. In this case, the two girls want to join high school program designed to prepare young women to run battleships. It's meant as a sign to other countries that Japan, with its dwindling coast lines, is not a threat militarily. It looks like this anime will be a lot like Girls und Panzer, yet it proves in the first episode that it will try to be much, much more. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't go into any more. Let me just say that it has a light feeling like Girls und Panzer but with a much more suspenseful, thrilling atmosphere. I, highly, recommend this to anyone that enjoyed Girls und Panzer, but want something more thrilling. Don't take my word for it. Go see for yourself. I hope you enjoy it.
P.S. I apologize if this isn't very coherent. I am struggling with very low Thyroid hormones and a weird form of Depression. Together, they have addled my brain. I struggle to make myself understood anymore. Sorry.
