And if you gave more GP/hath for uploading, due to the floating of hath and GP to credits, it might probably will equilibrate the wrong way for you. i.e., more GP/hath in the system means they will be worth much less in credits.

That's the second most retarded thing I've read all day. Money is nice and buys things like servers and bandwidth, but there are roughly ten times more active H@H clients than there are active Adopt-a-Server slots. They make up a very small amount of the total Hath/GP dished out by that system.

The best way to contribute, sans quote marks, is to do whatever you are capable of that helps the site in any way. If you have a fast internet connection or spare capacity on a server, H@H is an excellent way to do so. On the other hand, as I was alluding to in my initial post: playing HV is not contributing, it's just playing a game. So stop whining about actual contributors gaining advantages.

However, I'm so confused about it. Is there a thread for new uploaders to ask questions? For example: there are just so many galleries, I don't want to upload a dupe; there are different groups arguing about keeping raws/translations private; how do you prevent others from dupe uploading your galleries? What if you upload a gallery that someone posted a bounty for... Just so many questions have prevented me from doing any uploads, period.

You can probably ask those who upload a lot, like Lord of Evil.

Based on how traffic was still strong on the allyourbase website six years after they stopped adding content, I'd hazard a guess that this site would continue for 5-10 years assuming sustainable server costs.

If you ever posted a gallery that didn't make more than 10k GP in a year, the gallery itself was indeed utter shit.

As it is, the average total GP gain from galleries you have posted was 101080 GP. And you only have 49 galleries that are more than a year old - your average gallery age is in fact 319 days. But I suppose outright lying about what you get does make your argument sound better.

Comparatively, the average H@H client gets around 12 hits per minute, but this is heavily skewed towards faster clients. Assuming you are in the middle of the pack and it runs all day, you would get 17k GP per day. Which means that if you took the time to upload a single gallery every six days, on average, you would get more GP than you would by keeping H@H running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

But of course, real data and sensible arguments simply do not work on certain people, so I'm not expecting much.

People can sit there and upload, and get some amount of virtual money for it, or they can (potentially, of course, depending on the person) go out and get a real job which pays far more per hour, then rent servers. It's not surprising if income from servers is more scalable than income from uploading, and it's not something that could really be "fixed" except by paying uploaders far more than market rates for their labor.

At the cost of years of service to the site, yeah. It does make one feel a little under-appreciated when years of various contributions to the galleries is easily surpassed by one just throwing money at the site.
