I've read the wiki on it, and it doesn't really help me much..I have about 800 credits, and I'm not sure how to spend them on GP

You will get around 4k gp with your 800 credits.

under "Buy GP" (from left to right)
type 4 in the "Buy Count"
type 194 in the "Bid price per kGP"
and click "Buy GP!"

if the market do not change from the moment I write it you should get 4 000 GP for 776 credits.

I"m still confused...

as blue penguin said type the amount of gp you want to buy in the buy count bar and how much you want to pay for each piece of gp in that order
for example say you wanted to buy 2 gp for 155 credits each

put 2 in buy count and put 155 credits in bid price per gp

you would then get 2 gp at the price of 255 credits altogether
