QUOTE(piyin @ Mar 23 2014, 00:39) What? Where? When does it happened? "ERROR 666 - Memo not Found" i found it hard to eat the idea of helping level 200 and up, as they will mostly just ask for legendaries and good ones (like the shade of discord that has been post recently), but as this part havent changed:
<snap, well-known rule>
Stuff is STILL on HOLD... so until this matter changes on the same rules... i guess we must abide for this part and do nothing that can be... i dont know... like a forceful desicion, and thats the way i think.
i also saw it only when target has accepted, so i couldn't recall it -.-" QUOTE(animeai @ Mar 23 2014, 00:54) It's difficult to please everybody...
it's democracy, we simply CAN'T please everybody, only the bigger part (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) QUOTE(animeai @ Mar 23 2014, 00:54) When I thought up the idea of this shop, including the lotteries for donators I thought it would simply be a bit of fun. I have a healthy income from my H@H farm so throwing a few hundred hath here and there was no big deal. I would never have the time to run a free shop myself so having it shared seemed like the ideal solution.
I never in a million years expected items of the caliber we have to be donated... Legendary shade? I'm paying and/or offering silly money in the 5-20 million range for the legendary shade I'm trying to collect at the moment :/ While a 250k item to me is nothing special I'm pretty sure a couple of the items we have are pushing at least the 1000k mark. The problem is, they were donated free on the understanding they would be distributed to new players... Because they were donated somebody thought that the item was either worthless or valued too low to bother trying to sell themselves. This has left us between a rock and a rather hard place...
The concept is great but if anything the generosity of players is starting to become our undoing already! What a crazy situation to be in!
This leaves the question of course... what do we do? New players struggle to earn credits. Old players see Exq and below as worthless - even many mags are falling into that category now. Legendary has to have the right stats to be more than a collectors piece. Peerless is peerless but that goes without saying lol. TenB could add a new item rank to the game to re-ignite old passions but in a very short space of time we'd end up in the same situation again - all the old players have all the money and if an item is not perfect it's virtually worthless.
exactly what i mean when i say the situation is escalating: your base idea was quite good, almost noble and it's proven by the fact you have so many followers (including some vigilantes), but there's the need to rediscuss something, you see by yourself that made the law - found the roundabout: c'mon, gift a shade of fleet to someone that just today bidded hundred of thousands credits on auctions, we're doing a really bad impression here... Then lets make stuff the right way: only for players up Lvl 30 and under Lvl 200, thats all!!! i know the fact that thi will upset a lot of dudes... but if we are going to suffer with this kind of stuff from players over level 200, then lets just ignore them (as all of us alredy know what they are looking for... dont deny it!!! even i was like that at certain level), and lets just keep the stuff for the above levels (easiest way to stop the pain in the ass about this matter), and, if the shop get stuff that looks to be far beyond good like that shade, then we can do as WG, an auction of those items :that way we earn a little for the shop AND also evade cheaters that use other players, or multiaccounts, to get the high stuff. THIS IS ONLY A SUGGESTION MEMBERS OF FS AND FS, SO IS FREE FOR DISCUSION, OK?

My thoughts and potential options... No particular order list an incoherent list lol Random thoughs list: - It's not our job to detect mulch-accounters and botters but we can aid in finding them by tracking rare items.
- The whole game economy is horrible for new players if you don't have H@H and earn decent hath
- Even if we stopped giving Mag/Leg away for free player owned shops would continue to suffer because of the sheer volume of free exq items we have. This in turn becomes a vicious circle. Before we opened superior and below was worthless bazaar fodder, lets not deny this. Exq was starting to go the same way for certain classes of items.
- Is the HV economy our problem?
Freeshop options list - Periodically auction Magnificent or Legendary items and use the funds to buy decent exquisite items. Upsides and downsides to this... Running an auction is a pain in the ass - more of a pain the more items there are. We'd need a good script to help run it but only a single person could easily use this and would still need to be on multiple times per day etc
- Cream off the decent items and auction these on their own. This is time consuming...
- Quietly lose any really nice pieces as bribes or for personal collections (joke)
- Restrict the level limits more IE level 30-100 and insist on financial exchange for level 100+ on a sliding scale so by level 200 full market value is paid. This is a pain in the ass because we'd have to price each and every item. Any takers for pricing 2400 equips?
- My brain isn't working anymore... so I'm going to open it out to everybody else for more suggestions

i run a shop myself, further comments could be viewed as interests conflict. but actually not gifting mag/leg would allow all shops to still stand a chance: road to reform the economy is long, we don't need to dangerously jump if we can walk safely (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) QUOTE(animeai @ Mar 23 2014, 01:17) Freeshop options list - Periodically auction Magnificent or Legendary items and use the funds to buy decent exquisite items. joke apart and given away that if i was able to price tag items i would have done surely better in my shop (sorry for spamming (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) currently there are 3-4 regular auctioners, we can give them the items by rotation: recently arialinnoc run an auction completely based on colman's stuff, just to make an example...

QUOTE(brewdonkey @ Mar 23 2014, 07:35) I think only Exquisite and below should be for free. Mag and up should be for lottery purposes.
I think this is probably the most elegant solution to this issue. Perhaps Magnificents and above could be offered as lottery prizes or be sold through auctions to help fund the shop. These item grades are rare for a reason - it might be best to respect their rarity and not just give them away for free. Using them as lottery prizes or funding the shop through auctions would ultimately still benefit the new players down the line, so I don't think donators of such items would object to their donations being used for such purposes. (Even so, I would still think twice about letting gold stars receive items for free, but as mentioned before there is a huge stock of items and this could be a non-issue if an objective of this shop is to let go of as much gear as possible.) As for the auction issue, why not send the items to one of the regular auctioneers if the staff don't want to hold an auction themselves?

you're too late, gnegne (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) btw, just to end discussions, i make you know that i recalled leg shade by my decision, since it is involved a rule we still haven't agreed and it's again in our hands. afterall we can still send the item again with an excuse message. if user Kaithera isn't happy he can just PM me or write here, as he wish. I agree that mag and legendary equips are a bit of an overkill for starting players. maybe superior/exquisite for 30-200 and mags with no prefix and less than ideal suffixes for 100-200 or 150-200. then the mags with prefix and legendary are for lotteries (to encourge people to donate, not that we are short on donations though) with any excess to be auctioned off using proxy auctioneers. then use those credits to buy more superiors/exquisite.
We can also help other shops as well if they sell superior/exquisite items by buying some of those items (if they are reasonably priced), especially if a certain category of items is running low in the freeshop (very unlikely).
and @caiax. Gold star people are a little better off financially, but its still easy to go broke. 10k credit a day disappears quite quickly, especially with training, even if you sell the 3 haths. sold most of my haths for the auctions for shielding pieces (150k so far) and gonna be broke afterwards

another good suggestion imo, i was thinking it myself. maybe the most elegant so far, this way we could also help a bit the economy. as for low item categories, surely there are some undesired suffix: for example, it's unlikely someone would buy a shortsword of vampire but if some newbies want to try it - well, why not, it surely would be underpriced btw? Well, 300k is all I have for now. With that you can't probably get a legendary anywhere in the shops so...yeah, here I am.
I don't know about other Godslayers but my earning is roughly 25k/day. That is the case if I play for the whole day.

IMO it's all about prioritising your spending and saving up wisely, and this applies to all players, gold star or not. If you want to spend your income on training, gear, etc. simultaneously without saving up for one priority at a time, of course you're going to go broke, and that has nothing to do with how well off financially you are. Gold stars can earn 37K everyday in credits and Hath simply by refreshing a page with no time investment required beforehand; the rest of us who only get a few hundred credits (plus 1 Hath for those with cookies) per Dawn actually have to play the game to earn as much as you guys do for free (in terms of time, not real money).
