This may not be a popular post, but I think creating a mega Free Shop is a bad idea.

When you give away the gear that provides a significant part of the enjoyment the game has to offer for the first 10/20/100/200 rounds, then are you really helping users out? Sure, you help them do "better" by allowing them to complete levels faster, on higher difficulties. But you all know that this game can't ever be won...it can only be enjoyed as you progress, whatever your capabilities are and your appetite for grinding is at the moment. Giving away the gear that helps people ignore the game's inherent challenges for a while is just cheating them of the chance to enjoy that challenge.

I very much admire what Wolfgirl did, she was extremely generous to do what she did. Not only did she give away free gear, but her freeshop became a popular site for many to visit and chat. People who received donations returned to make their own, and stayed to offer advice and just hang out, which is the only way to measure the success of any thread in the forums. I donated some gear myself and thought it to be a good thing. But I have changed my mind, partially because of how dedicated she was to keep it going for so long. smile.gif

Just something to think about. You don't need to respond to my post and try and convince me how wrong I am in this opinion. I know that I can't prevent anyone from giving away free gear, nor do I want to. And I would agree with anyone who says the regular shops also produce a similar effect, by permitting the swapping of credits for game capability independent of game experience.

But just think. If we could all get any Legendary gear we wanted right now...would that make the game more fun? Maybe for a week or two. And what if a brand new player could also get Legendary gear on day 1...would they have more fun on their way to level 400? Or less?

Anyways, your intentions are admirable and I give you credit for them.

Valuable opinion but:

1.- We already started (try to stop a bullet train) with 10B Godly Blessing.
2.- As a cooperative group of staff member all of us agree to do this in good terms
3.- it is true that we are giving away legendaries as like i dont know... free ads weeklys? BUT!!! we only give one EVER for player, same goes for magnificents, so i dont think anyone can be happy with those... when out there are the 0.000001 PEERLESS .
4.- I think is a good way to keep stuff that higher level dont use or cant sell (mostly coz it doesnt sell or stuff) in movement and being in use (too much stuff on our inventories)


Last, i dont think you are wrong about the fact that "hey i worked my ass before the free shops ever existed and newbies just get stuff that i have to bleed for for around 200 levels in one post!!!" some ppl can think that way, and is not wrong, just an opinion, but ppl get at uppers level faster with that donations, so i think they dont have time for ask for like 100 equipments... UNLESS some one isnt really using them and just wait every 3 days to ask for new stuff to full his/her inventory as they have the right to ask for free stuff based on our rules : i thinked about a cap like "you can only ask for one item if you level up X levels" or stuff... i feel like some ppl around there haven been working their asses over level 30 and just keep the progress at minimum so they can snatch away more of the FS, what is, even if not refered on the shop rules, an abuse.

Anyway, Thanks for the opinion, and i think you are welcome to come join us if ya like it (i know you and im sure a lot other members do) just apply for a staff position.

done. as you could see, sometimes i went easy because at the time they wrote they were observing the rules or they were already been told they were wrong so they corrected themselves.

thanks for your opinion. it may sound a bit short, but i read your whole post.
i was level 210 when i first saw free shops, and i actually thought exactly like you, that it wasn't far to have for free items way better than what i was forced to buy or to dream on, but i invite you only to think on two points: we are only offering a service that surely may be considered an easy workaround and newbies who get a Leg item at level 40 will lose something about the game, but they can still choose whether to use it or not.
furthermore, we are somehow senpais in this game, so why don't help kohais like in schools? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
