Pretty much my question is, is it permanent and I will have eternal shame or can I appeal it and learn restraint? Or will it fade after a period of time and I've shown I can not be the kind of person who ED would love to chronicle?

All of those work j, I'm just fine with posting galleries and luckily that hasn't been banned.

Thanks for anyone who actually bothers to help me out, and like I said, it'd be nice to prove I'm not an irredeemable shithead who can't learn from his mistakes, but if I'm banned for life, well alright then. I won't lose any sleep or obsess over it.

A ban in ANY of the following areas results in a ban in ALL of them: Tagging, Expunging, Renaming, Rating, Commenting.

Whether you attacked the Laruffi galleries out of hate or didn't know better, the ban is permanent.

And that's probably what I plan on doing. Learned my lesson, don't wrongfully Expunge. Even if you have a personal beef with the uploader, keep it private and keep it to yourself. Now all I need to do is ask who banned me and what I need to do to unban myself, kind of a first time for me since I'm not usually stupid, read dramatic, to get myself banned. Ugh, stupid, stupid, stupid me... Thanks for your help, and I got banned for expunging Laruffi's translation, that's what I did.

So I've tried to contact A7 at least twice to get my ban appealed, he hasn't gotten back to me and this was over a space of a few days, in the forum post where he talked about getting people who were expunging G*atse, he said he sent warnings to all of them. Me and a colleague didn't get these warnings and as such our bans came off as a surprise, can anyone help me get back to him so we can all just run sortthisshitout.exe and move on? I want to get this ban appealed because it's seriously harshing my buzz, and I've stated to A7 in my two PM's that I've learned my lesson, which I have, and that I won't bug Laruffi scans anymore, which is also true. Since this is my first true ban here and I haven't really been the kind of megalomaniacal shithead who would deserve a ban that pretty much blocks me from everything from tagging my own galleries to blocking me on comments, I'd personally like to get this thing done away with.

Any help I can get in removing the almighty Banhammer from my head would be appreciated. Thanks and stay classy.

Mods generally get a lot of PMs, usually it takes at least a couple of days to get a response, you might need to be a bit patient and wait a bit for a response.

Right, I decided to wait for fifteen days after I first posted this thread and got some replies that told me to be patient, I sent A7 my appeal about Jan 4th, so far I haven't gotten anything from them. Can someone help me out here? I was originally banned for expunging G*atse's translations, I was able to post my own galleries though, so I've been banned in the expunging, tagging, commenting, etc fields because a ban there hits all across the board. I'd like some help if anyone is willing to give me a hand here, since this is my first offense based ban and it's one I'm not intent on repeating again. I can try to send another appeal to A7, considering I've waited for two weeks and a day after my original ban, but I'm not sure if it'll work.

In the body of the message, state the reason of your ban (be concise) and remind politely him that you sent a message in dates x and x requesting the ban lift and that you humbly request his reconsideration on the matter.

As you stated, no drama. Just a polite message could help you miles in your dilemma.

So I tried again, when you told me. I still have not heard jack-squat from A7, at this point I of the opinion he/she is ignoring me and whoever else are trying to get their ban appealed. Would it be possible if I got another moderator to unban me? Because at this point I am nearing the end of my rope as this ban has extended for nearly two months now without any indication of A7 ever getting back to me.

Ah, A7 is short-hand for Alpha 7, sorry a chum of mine got me hooked into shortening names, apologies for confusion.

My point withstanding, I've tried to appeal to Alpha 7 at least three times this month, and as far as showing him I've changed? I have no clue what you mean for me to do to show him that. If I may be so confused, how would enjoying the site and participating on the forums help me? I just want to be able to tag my own galleries again, and get my temp-banned privileges restored, I.E rating, tagging, commenting, expunging, that whole shebang.

I'm willing to listen to your suggestions in getting him to see I've changed. I'm just confused about this whole mess because it's been a full two months since December since I've been banned and I haven't heard back from Alpha 7 after I sent my two appeals at the beginning of this month and the one just twelve days ago.

As I said before, I'm not trying to start drama, I'm just trying to get myself back in business.

A: Total assumption, statement is invalid.
B: How often do you see someone genuinely appearing remorseful about a bad decision and them persisting *graciously* asking for a second chance? That would be without acting like a total fool about it and ending up as just another expletive-laced tirade.

It was established early on that bandwagon expunging of Laruffi translations simply because they're horrible is not a valid reason and therefore ban'able.
I am of course basing his decision to expunge on lack of knowledge of the rules, the only other option is he was raging.

Whether or not he's remorseful or not is not gonna help him if the one who banned him(Alpha7) banned a whole slew for such reckless behavior and in order to keep the rules firmly enforced he cannot simply forgive a single user.
It is much more prudent to ignore the mewling children when asked for undue favors then it is to explain yourself for favoring one request and be accused of not being "fair".

Maybe if he had made more of a contribution to the site or had a reputation among the rest of us users might he have been given some lenience, this is conjecture of course...

Bans aren't generally absolute unless you've previously been hit with one. So if you're not getting a reply, PM me instead.
