QUOTE(brewdonkey @ Feb 27 2014, 11:07) Cool. I noticed that PFUDOR seems to have ramped up in difficulty for no reason, too. Weird.
0.78.2 - 2014-02-16 - Fixed a bug with PFUDOR difficulty where the monster speed bonus was accidentally applied to players as well. Could this be the cause of your grief? PFUDOR has gotten much more difficult, if I am facing a mob of 9 or 10 monsters consisting of mostly top level (120-160k HP) monsters, I have to heal at least 5 or 6 times to get through the round which plays havoc with Mana conservation for the Marathons (the usual buffs and Weakened).

QUOTE(brewdonkey @ Feb 28 2014, 03:30) Change of topic: Anyone else (particularly melee players) notice that immediately after casting Heartseeker you get f-ed up by most of the mobs with double-hits and such even though you have haste active? It happens to me about 80+% of the time in Random Encounters and it's ridiculous. I could literally go through 5-6 turns in the round with nothing out of the ordinary except after I cast Heartseeker and then the above side-effect happens. I noticed it in the previous patch and seems to have gotten worse in this one particularly on PFUDOR.
Heartseeker is a big, slow spell, the cast time for that is long; so monsters hit you hard during your cast time. I'm probably not explaining it correctly. Don't worry, it happens to mages too. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Just defend before casting it or use a scroll.

QUOTE(HNTI @ Feb 28 2014, 11:41) Given you don't try to focus (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif). Not many situations with 1-handed where you would need to focus in active battle. Just wait until all the mobs are either dead or stunned, and then focus all you want.

Why do people hate the "In memory of Dark Mages" monster series? They're pretty cool.
I don't think certain types of monsters should be nerfed. Instead, we should buff the others.
Mage-class monsters should start with full mp/sp and use up to 50% less mp/sp on their attacks, avion-class should be up to 50% faster, etc.

Because it takes forever and a half to kill them in addition to the fact that they hit me like a sledge hammer swung by the Rock. As a current 1-H HEAVY player, that's not cool!

I haven't had any trouble with them, personally.

They are either giants or arthropod. They appear in packs, sometimes giants + smt, sometimes arthropod + smt, more often than not both giants and arthropod. Their skills may not hit as hard as the top celestial monsters but they can deal very consistent damage if carelessly left alone for too long. 4 giant using skills or crit with their normal attacks usually mean an instant cure. Mingyannu Giant in particular always guarantee a Silence from me. Fuck his BIU BIU BIU. Fuck the whole round with him in it.

I got hit by a 15.3k void damage skill a few days ago with 73.2% pmi.
I shudder to think what a crit attack would have done.
Don't remember the monster though.

You sure it was skill, not spell?
