I'm currently reading Abarat by Clive Barker. A friend of mine said it was good so I'm giving it a chance.

Haven't read anything in a long time. If "graphic novels" count it was Das Capital in manga-form.

Terry Pratchett - Thief of TIme

One of the novel starring Death ... yeah, that makes Pratchett's recent passing extra poignant, though I started reading the book before that.

I've gone over the entire Worldwar series (Worldwar, Colonization, and Homeward Bound) as well as the Settling Accounts tetralogy of the Southern Victory series. I'm considering checking out the The War That Came Early series as well. Alternate histories of World War II fascinate me.

Turtledove makes some very interesting -- and plausible -- alternate-history scenarios. My pet peeve, though, is the sheer number of story threads he interweaves into his works; because of that, I tend to simply skim over the "side stories" that involve characters who don't hold my interest.

Gyo by Junji Ito. It's kinda short, can probably finish it in a lazy afternoon.
