The lottery is something you invest in if you have too much fucking money.
Like all forms of gambling, you should only gamble with money that you are happy to otherwise burn.
Saving up gp or buying gp to buy tickets when you can't afford it?
That is retarded, and you are retarded for complaining about it.
This is the most accurate image I can find for a lottery. [attachembed=31518]
EDDY: It's also the most accurate image I can find to show you what any country bailing out the Greek economy is doing.

QUOTE(DYasha @ Oct 22 2013, 00:25) As I've written before, there should be a cooldown for winners so others have an opportunity to win. If you win the grand prize, then a week. 5 days if you win GP. Then, you won't have a lot of the same winners each time.
There should be cap, but a reasonable one, to how many tickets you can buy each day. 10k, 50k? Whatever.
The Lottery is created to solve the GP sink not to guarantee the well-being of poor. As for its purpose, it did well. Your advise can only against to Lottery's purpose. May suggest a new system like tax will work...(anyone really want it? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) )

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ) Just make another parallel lottery for ordinary people. With "one person, one ticket" rule of course. Have done with these GP sink arguments, repeated like a mantra. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Laboq: Oct 23 2013, 10:53

Such as 5-20% of final pot, which will be taken by unpredictable player? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Yeah, how about wheel of fortune then? You can play with it 1 time per week, or need a new token with the same drop rate like artifact. And the whell of fortune have rewards like 1000x chrystal, 2 artifact, 1 noodle, random gear or Nothing etc. etc. etc.

And how would that benefit Tenboro's credit sink scheme?

B-But... money-bags still will buy the bunch of GP in order to win some peerless prize. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Basically, not at all. But with this, maybe: 1 play for 1 week is free. But every day the prize randomized. And for the second and third etc. the player need to buy the opportunity to play. Peoples donates, and do things, I'm sure most of the user who have the credit and GP buy it, if something interesting show up on the prize list.

How would your 'one person, one ticket' scheme become a credit sink? Assuming ~1000 players buying one ticket per day, that would bring the total to ~150k credits. What should be the present for a 150k credit pool then? QUOTE(Annsomni @ Oct 23 2013, 21:30) Basically, not at all. But with this, maybe: 1 play for 1 week is free. Incentive for multi-accounting. And the new token is going to hurt just like the poor healing tokens. The rich players would prefer buying through WTB since that would incur no net loss.

QUOTE(varst @ Oct 23 2013, 15:45) What should be the present for a 150k credit pool then? 50% + some EXQ gear or an artifact(s) or whatever. Remember that it will be a parallel lottery not the swapping for the current one. QUOTE(varst @ Oct 23 2013, 15:45) Incentive for multi-accounting. Unlikely. And again: their "to win" chance will still be insignificant so it's pointless.

I think we should cap bids on auctions to 1000 C. It's not fair that people who have a lot of credits can just use their wealth to snatch all the good items from normal people.

Sure, why not. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Also, ordinary ≠ normal and money-bag ≠ abnormal, there wasn't any bit of fascism.
