You need to be specific. Are you talking about Ann Frank's actual diary, which is confirmed to be real but ends before they go into hiding for 25 months and was clearly written by a child. Or the three subsequent notebooks that covered 1942 to 1944, with one being lost. Or the original manuscript based on the rewritten, and reworked loose leaf notes based on those diaries supposedly edited by 15 year old Ann before their arrest.
Or the manuscript edited and compiled by Mr Frank's secretary who later nixed herself as she disagreed with something about the content of the book.
Or the versions which had contributions from several friends, and editors. Or the different German versions that were then also edited by family members who added to the book multiple times. or then the censored dutch release had many sections removed as to not offend or be contested by the living witnesses.
