I actually can agree with you that the statue in rio hits differently.

Flipped off some jesus freak protesters on the way into planned parenthood today.
I ignored their babbling as I walked about how expensive it was to get pregnancy tested there (guess they thought I was a woman or something), but when they switched gears to talking about god the middle finger came out.

Nothing wrong with jesus's messages, as reported in the bible. but there is something wrong with people who don't mind their own business and try to intimidate people.

I read the whole bible cover to cover at one point in my life (except I'll admit I skipped some of psalms). Jesus (as depicted therein) is respectable and i can be sympathetic with him.

But I ultimately am modelling my life upon what I think is right and wrong and what will make a better life for everyone, rather than whatever words someone else is trying to put in god's mouth.

You loved that little cat so much so I knew you had good in you. I never forgot that. The psalms are the most beautiful. I'm still studying and learning and it's so fascinating and all makes sense to me now. Sometimes I weep it's so beautiful. It will be a lifelong experience and I look forward to it.

YouTube is becoming insufferable with censorship. Content creators and commenters can't say a lot of things which only draws more attention to it. When the term "unalived" first came out, I thought it was some new cringe internet lingo but then realized they're dodging censorship. The internet is becoming even more weird than usual so I try not to be on it as much anymore.

Then you get to buy them up as a distressed asset as nobody wants to buy something with legal issues going on and financial trouble. Its a combination of people repeating what worked for some big sites and the NGOs / Activists / Consultants trying to maintain their business.

The NGO attack dogs have gone after sites for:
-Moderation practices
-Age verification
-DMCA compliance
-Variety of content

A *lot* of my older Catbox uploads from 3-4 years ago are now giving 404s. That's really annoying if I don't remember what they were.
I reuploaded one that I remembered, and it gave the same filename, but still 404s.
So were all of those manually flagged by some ____ and deleted?

Or are they just pruning older files and didn't bother to tell anyone?

I have a folder called "the internets" that goes back to around 2009.

I put every meme that I've ever posted in there.

The first image is this.

I would also need to have a file mapping local filenames to catbox short filenames, and then go through > 20 pages of old posts reupping them to another imagehost. I started keeping one when I noticed files disappearing in 2022, but it was too much bother and I didn't continue with it.

One of the early ones was [files.catbox.moe] this which was [nypost.com] a news photograph. That made me suspicious that they were deleting more than their ToS said, but this latest mass disappearance is something else.

I know that they will permaban VPN IPs based on one person's uploading something through it. I wonder if their content moderation department gets overloaded and they sometimes just nuke uploaded files by IP without looking at them individually.

But even then, I have individual posts with 2 files missing out of 3 and they were all just pictures of gloves. Did I change IP 2+ times while composing the post and not remember it 4 years later or is their fscking site borked?

I went and used photobucket for images over a decade ago.

They got bought out by some asshole and then sent me emails telling me I had to pay to access my images.

That was the first and last time I used an image hosting service.
