They use UPS because it can be slightly cheaper. The savings come from thinner cardboard which let's them crush your package easier. They also like to leave your non-waterproof package in the open rain because it would take a few more seconds to drop it under roof

I think Japan had one of the best postal services in the world, having one of the few profitable postal services, but still offering great service. When I had them send me a package of books, the box arrived wrapped in a waterproof "burlap" sack. A few years ago Abe decided the UPS is a model of efficiency, and he decided to fully privatize Japan's postal service. The media has lauded it as a triumph of deregulation.

Finally, I got my package after waiting so long. I could see by the tracking number that it was sitting at the post office. Why, I don't know but I've since learned from reading around that UPS Innovations does that if they're overloaded.

Last week, I had called UPS customer service and thankfully wasn't on hold too long and gave them my tracking number. They said to call the post office since that's where the package was. I was infuriated and when I called the Post Office, the wait was over an hour and I got so pissed I just reordered what I was waiting for from another place.

So UPS dumped my package at the post office and it was finally delivered to the apartment mailbox a couple of days ago which is a bit of a walk to get to. WTF, it was supposed to be expedited service and left at my doorstep. Fucking cunts.

All of February was a straight four weeks starting from Sunday to Saturday. It'll never happen again in our lifetimes.
