Jakarta's going to be the new Atlantis soon I hear.
Asia mined so much sand for construction in the past decade that its now considered a strategic resource and contributed far more to declining shore lines in the pacific than global warming. All the developing nations without proper regulation got considerably rekt.
6b tonnes of marine sand for construction are consumed each year and river damming and sand-mining has lowered replenishment.
The climate scientists overlooked the problem as it didn't fit the narrative.
edit: Portlandia begging brands not to flee is hilarious. Protestors are marching for looters atm, looting is a human right, and police should be abolished.
Brands: okay, we out.
Portlandia: Nooo, if we don't have stores to steal from, they will target the nice areas in the suburbs.
