Was reading about airplane crashes earlier. I'd forgotten about the [en.wikipedia.org] 2018 Horizon Air Q400 Incident. What a way to go out.
A sad way, too. But a remarkable one. Sort of has this air of taking place in some kind of altered reality, complete with the somewhat surreal dialogue with ATC.
QUOTE
When ATC suggested that the plane be landed at Joint Base Lewis–McChord, the occupant refused: "Those guys will rough me up if I try and land there. I think I might mess something up there, too. I wouldn't want to do that." He asked ATC if he could get a job as a pilot with Alaska Airlines if he successfully landed the aircraft. ATC said, "they would give you a job doing anything if you could pull this off", to which he replied, "Yeah right! Nah, I'm a white guy." He spoke of wanting to do "a couple maneuvers to see what it [the aircraft] can do", and requested the coordinates of an orca that had been brought to national attention, saying, "I want to go see that guy." He stated that he did not want to hurt anyone, and in the final minutes of the communication apologized to his friends and family. Near the end of the flight, the aircraft was seen performing a barrel roll over Puget Sound, recovering a mere ten feet (three meters) over the water. A veteran pilot said the maneuver "seemed pretty well executed, without either stalling or pulling the wings off." When an air traffic controller requested he land the plane after this maneuver, he said "I don't know. I don't want to. I was kind of hoping that was gonna be it, you know?" He added that he "wasn't really planning on landing it."
A touchingly human moment.
Dammit, now I'm sad.

Yeah I've had some pretty good 4 cheese pizza, also Margaretta, and some cheese and garlic pizzas. I haven't had a good pepperoni pizza in a long time.
Costco does decent pepperoni ones here, if you like greasy american style pizzas.
Where I live, variants of the pepperoni pizza are the sure shots on most lists. Depending on my mood, I might pick something like extra parmesan to boost the taste.
Not sure if it’s just me, but I think seafood, ham, and chicken are usually weaker. My hunch is that they tend to use ingredients too cheap to make those ones really tasty.

You would be correct to make that statement in all likelihood. If it's anything like it is here.

It certainly wins on price. I think it depends heavily on freshness too, if it has just been prepared they are quite good but a bit greasy when cold.

Hyper variability here. The seafood and chicken are the tests of good pizza places, some are fantastic but you usually pay for it. When its super busy, the variability goes to the moon as well. The trendier the location the cost of the pizza can become insane. Most tend to use gas stoves here, there are some that use a tradition oven but you have to pay for it.
I've had excellent cheese, margarita, chicken, etc etc but not really an excellent pepperoni.
It could be my fault, that I only get pepperoni from more of the chain style restaurants. If the other pizzas are awesome, I probably don't select pepperoni.
Currently I only eat pizza like once a quarter as well. A few years ago, I enjoyed the Little Caesars but that was at the launch special price of like $3 for a pizza.

Reduced net total carbon footprint so as an environmentalist I'm all for it.
The African American bystander that was commenting said 'You have insurance, just let him take the stuff, it doesn't hurt you, you can't do anything to stop him'
That attitude annoys me. When you make claims your premiums go up. If everyone makes claims, the insurance companies put the prices sky-high. There is also an excess you have to pay which for businesses can be pretty high.
I heard the dumbest argument by a lefty trying to be smart.
Their argument was that Republicans are fascist because their level of panic determines how fascist they are with supporting government mandates. For example, they oppose vaccine mandates, but if covid 19 had 50% lethality and the vaccine was 100% effective stopping transmission then they would support it.
In reality the virus had less than 1% lethality and the vaccine was ineffective after a couple of months at stopping transmission. That was enough to send lefties balls to the walls demanding government mandates, crushing dissenters and using propaganda.... In my country they declared dissenters to be public enemies and threw them into concentration camps.
I wish the neighbors would shut their fucking dog up. I think it belongs to the adult kid who moved out and they drop it off during the weekends. Sometimes there are two dogs and I assume the extra one belongs to another relative. These are small dogs with a nails scraping on a plate irritating monotone bark that I absolutely cannot stand.
Why the hell would you put a dog in the yard to bark all damn day and annoy the neighbors? Are you that stupid or just uncaring to both other people and the dog?
I've actually banged a spoon on the side of a bowl when it was incessantly barking by our window where it usually likes to be. I thought that was a more acceptable and decent hint to the idiot neighbors rather than outright yelling SHUT THE FUCK UP!
Yesterday I was actually looking up ultrasonic dog bark controllers online to aim out the window at it but I shouldn't have to spend any money on their annoying piece of shit dog.
