My philosophy is that violence is almost never called for.
Have you ever spoke to someone that is irrational? If you are on the street, and someone is wanting to beat the shit out of you for wearing a purple tie, you may end up resorting to violence to solve the issue. That wouldn't be your fault. Violence isn't a sound argument, but an impactful one. Riots are more impressionable than a peaceful protest. Punching someone in the face shuts them up faster than asking them to please be quiet.
Remember the 1000s of peaceful protests that BLM did, or the 2 riots they did?
Violence isn't always the correct answer, but it is an answer.
Yes, I do remember them - all of them, peaceful and not. And they were wrong to do the riots. It was not an answer, it caused problems and solved none.
My point stands.

And my point stands too. Q: Jimmy has 5 apples, and he eats 3 of them, but his mom is an alcoholic and his dad is in prison. Where did he get the apples from?
A) Jimmy stole the apples B) Jimmy found the apples C) Jimmy bought the apples
A is an answer. B is an answer. C is an answer.
...Do you get my point on how "violence" can be an answer now or do I have to draw this out for you?

I don't consider malevolent answers to be answers. I consider them to be additional problems. I equivocate resolution of the underlying problem with being the 'answer.'
So, for instance, this may technically be "an answer" to the homelessness problem in New York, but it's certainly not "THE answer," and definitely not one that I would ever refer to as a valid or good answer due to its sheer malice and utter lack of empathy. At YouTube just now there are videos coming in that they found those two fugitives, the prison guard and inmate. Guy at carwash spotted them, police chase then crash and she supposedly shot herself but is still alive and in hospital. She fled with him when she retired and sold her house. Threw her whole life away for some prisoner butthole gape dude.
Murderer: They were lying when they say I murdered an older woman and sold her property for cash. Now what I need you to do if you love me, is to sell all your property for cash, then we can be together in Mexico.
