Its how the camera handles on console compared to some of the Spyro games.
That's a hard sell, but okay... I mean, plenty of games have bad cameras. For example: Just about anything else From Software made. I guess you could argue the flying levels made many a kid ragequit? And those creepy dogs in the first boss area required some finesse.to dodge and attack... Okay, yeah. Comparison noted.

Ah yes, I destinctively remember charging through the hail of inaccurate, slow fired volleys from riflemen being a major issue in that game about ancient China full of people attacking each other primarily with swords and polearms. It's not like charging in with reckless abandonment would get you killed in Nier or anything. Yeah, you got me there, too.

They try to make it super serious especially in newer games but then you have all the power ups mechanics and combo mechanics, which seem arcade like.
Yeah, I guess a man hellbent on killing everything in a series and doing so repeatedly, really doesn't need a change in direction to keep the character from becoming tired and repetitive. I mean, sure he still does these things in a more fleshed out world with some sort of relatable pathos other than being anger man. It deviates way too much from the formula when you develop a character from a sociopath to someone who can be like, "Nah, I got my
BOY with me, today. I will fuck and or kill you tomorrow." Who wants their games to be that "gamey?" That girthy. That willing to take a chance to do something more than what they did before, to appeal to fans new and old? No, just spoonfeed the same game that was in no way losing its charm with each iteration. I certainly can't fault anyone for not liking any of that.
Well explained. Here I thought she just installed the games to the hard drive and never bothered to play any of them. But now I see you two have at least made it past the title screens.
