Weird people keep using variations of this argument regarding student-selected high school curriculum. It's annoying to have another property tax increase this year to pay for this kind of education system. Much of the argument is based on complaints by liberals that STEM students avoid anti-discrimination courses by picking only science, math, and lab courses, so they are trying to have STEM students required to also take a set of social science anti-discrimination courses too.
I enjoyed my sociology courses. Not sure how much I really learned (beyond a few names of sociologists), but they were great GPA boosters; basically all i had to do was write rants like I do here but cite academic sources to get good grades on papers. And the professors were usually interesting people to have conversations with. I could talk about Abbie Hoffman or whatever and they'd be able to hold a conversation with me about him.
Then again, I'm not a hateful or otherwise authoritarian/tribal sort of person (for the most part), so I guess I'm not the kind of person that's getting most upset about being given easy credit hours.
(I am a STEM major)
And yes, I know Malcolm X wouldn't like me. But he was still right about a few things, including one thing that I think you might be a victim of.
QUOTE(Malcolm X)
This is the press, an irresponsible press. It will make the criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.
(1964) BTW, I did not learn about him in school. That was something I did on my own time.

Most definitely. He was a human being and also had plenty of his own flaws. I don't love his methodology. I have similar impressions of him to my impressions of Ayn Rand (who is also overrated). She identifies real issues that I agree with, and then her solution is inevitably "Therefore, you should make things worse by being an absolute cunt to everyone you meet." And that's where I stop agreeing with her. I'm not Jacquelope, so I can see his flaws. But he was also right about a few things and that was one of them.

He was was like Ben Shapiro when talking about White liberals.

they were great GPA boosters;
When universities introduce pay to win mechanics. Its not even a micro-transaction because it costs thousands of dollars.
edit: Biden supporters see him spending trillions on multinational investment funds, military industrial complex and government departments whilst he slashes funding for regular folk and they love him because they think he will spend anything on them.
Biden: I would spend a trillion on you too but gosh darn these limits on spending make that hard. Maybe if you vote for me some more, I will eventually spend on you too.
Also Joe Biden: The stimulus payments were a mistake. The opportunity zones were a mistake. Student loan debt forgiveness would be a mistake. Rent support was a mistake. Subsidizing education and healthcare is a mistake.
Democrats: 'They need to lower their costs by buying an electric car and working for the government or getting a job as a senator"

Everytime I see Zelenskyy's name I think about about Rick Moranis doing a movie called "Honey, They Blew Up the Kievs" and I chuckle to myself ever so, because I'm just the worst.
But Mags, didn't you know that in a letter to a fan Tolkien said that he encouraged people to expand on his universe with poems, paintings and songs, which is a diverse set of media which means....
I guess the issue is that they said the story is about representation... rather than an actual good story.
It looks like they took game of thrones and shoe horned into the Lord of the Rings + diversity.
The publicist for The Lord of the Rings production responded to the overall negative group response of Tolkien scholar fans (these are the serious fans who have put in a lot of time and are "qualified" to speak about Tolkien). In response to accusations of FORCED diversity in Tolkien's characters, she said that the Amazon creation of The Lord of the Rings is modernized and more representative.
In a response on Twitter by Pilfered Brimley, he said that it “would be awkward” if a TV show made in 2021 featured an “all white” cast. Of course, Pilfered Brimley got Cancel Cultured and only the following response remains by Dr Peacelove For Emperor: "This is gonna be very awkward considering the original Middle Earth was a direct allegory for medieval Europe. Would be cooler if you all just wrote a brand new fantasy epic than tried to round-peg-square-hole an old one into something it’s not." --Dr. Peacelove For Emperor
And Middle Earth does have black people. They come from the south such as "Southrons in scarlet, and out of Far Harad black men like half-trolls with white eyes and red tongues." This context from the books makes it clear that everybody else was pasty white. Tolkien didn't deal with diversity issues as that is a modern social welfare concept made more ironic that whites are by far the minority in the world's population.
Omg, I was just reading about influencers that tried to do a dry ice party. They were in a spa and dropped 50kg of dry ice into the water and killed themselves.

Imagine caring this much about a work of fiction by a guy who died 50 years ago. What they are doing is retarded, but it's also retarded to care what they do or even give them press. You can just dismiss everything new that comes out as retards being retarded and enjoy the good stuff that's already out there.

At least a million people are really that retarded, huh. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
I'd argue the proportion is larger than that.
