Game Start

What could be more valuable than Daemon Duality IX, Annoying Dogs, or a Peerless Hallowed Oak Staff of Heimdall? Ownership of a very famous monster, of course!

Last night, I checked and managed to snag three more famous monster names that used to be taken: Nicol Bolas, Optimus Prime, and Hulk Hogan. And it didn't cost me a thing.

So, what famous monsters do the rest of you guys have, or covet from someone else? Let's see them! For the purposes of this thread I'll define a famous monster name as being part of a group or series that someone else also has a monster from (you can check by attempting to rename a monster to the desired name). The name should be the correct and simplest spelling possible. And I will define a flagship monster as being the best or most noteworthy out of a group or series, in your own honest opinion (multiple flagships of a group can exist, within reason).

Participants here, please list your total number of monsters, total number of famous monsters, total number of flagships (if you own multiple candidates from one group please count them as only one flagship), the specific names of any famous monsters that you wish, and anything else you want. Drooling, comments, and general discussion are welcome! (This thread could also perhaps be used to beg and ask to have or trade monster names.)

I only have 15 monsters total, with 10 being famous names, and 5 flagships.

1) Darth Vader, flagship (someone else has Luke Skywalker, but most Star Wars names are unused)
2) Optimus Prime, flagship (someone else has Rodimus Prime and Grimlock, but most Transformers are open)
3) Cobra Commander, flagship (not sure anyone else used GI Joe but at least they are related to Transformers)
4) Hulk Hogan, flagship (someone else has Andre the Giant, actually Ultimate Warrior is the greatest but his name could be mistaken as generic)
5) Nicol Bolas, flagship (tons of Magic:TG names out there, Vaevictis is another flagship and the 3 remaining Elder Dragons are taken by others)
6) Black Magician Girl (I cannot count her as a flagship, because Dark Magician Girl is the inarguable flagship)
7) Serpentor (possible flagship but really it should be Cobra Commander)
8) Scarlett (best girl but GI Joe is sadly not about girls)

There's nothing wrong with not having famous monster names. Funny and unique monster names are great too, and leave basic famous names such as these open for others to take.

Although I currently own these names, some of them are on placeholder monsters, until I can get more Chaos Tokens to make the proper monster type for each one. I also apologize for how weak my monsters are, and that no one will ever get to see them. Any of my monsters will gladly accept donations of crystals or chaos tokens to level up towards fightworthy status. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I just managed to steal Darth Vader and Vaevictis Asmadi names. Actually the other guy misspelled Vaevictis that's why.

Not too worried about the other toubuns but this one I wanted. I also have a knockoff version of Sanka Rea and that one giant girl Dione from the Monmusu Oishasan.

Dude, "famous" is very subjective. But according to your loose definition, I'd say that over half of my lab is made of "famous" monsters.

If I were to name only one I own, it'd be Hong Meiling.

You know that your monster name is coveted when people make copycats of it.

hmmm... dunno if this thread is such a good idea after all. We already have 1 pissed off member because someone 'stole' a monster name. And then bragging who has the most famous name, doesn't make that much sense. I mean, you can mention your achievements in 'scoring' a famous name in the 'achievement' thread. If the famous monster name is funny (I own M C Hammer (crushing attack: hammer time)), then it can go in the gallery of funny monster names.

I'll keep an eye on how this develops, but don't be surprised (nor offended) if this entire thread gets moved into the 'achievement' thread.

How can anyone be mad because of that? It's like me getting mad cuz my original, unique name is already taken.

Yeah there are a number of things about this topic that worry me. Most of all, what if it triggers others to start hogging names or having disputes?

Come to think of it, I now recall that all of my first 13 monsters were supposed to be of the Swimsuit Girl series (name candidates already amassed) but I started using them for famous names, since they are more likely to be taken in the future. I will rename my monsters into Swimsuit Girl series later and move my popular names into wave two. I need more chaos tokens; are tokenizer hath perks worth the cost?

I'd probably give up any of these names if the right person requested them from me (especially someone who has a lot of others in the series). Except for maybe Darth Vader and Optimus Prime (there are a ton of Transformers though, so if someone really showed the dedication then I would). Plus I'd rather give good names to people with high level monsters so I can actually battle against them.



There are positive reasons to discuss this as well. It lets us know what other members like or worship, and is a funny topic in general. It might also clear up misunderstandings: I do not even know what a Hong Meiling is (no offense) so when I see all those monsters, I just think it's a joke or that Hong Meiling has something to do with this hentai website.

I would never give up Dark Magician Girl because I worship her, but the black version is a knockoff so I would. Wow, I just checked and Tour Guide From the Underworld is taken, that is impressive!

Hmm I sense a distinct lack of Japanese anime character famous names in my monster list. Perhaps this could be because some anime I like the most are not especially popular so I don't think anyone else would take them. Also I do not want others to know my true anime waifus so even if I had such monster I would not desire to show her name nor even the giant robot she rides in to others. It's also kind of thrilling to let my waifus stay exposed to see who else might want to give NTR to them! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)



P.S. - I didn't snipe any of my monster names, but I just felt like seeing fresh names one day and naturally tried a few that I tried before and they just worked. So that's why I could get multiple famous names in one day.

If you are willing to care so much about a monster's name then that monster should be a very high level. If it isn't then it doesn't matter because no one will see it besides early game isekai.

So, how much level they need to be to fight more? My highest is around 500

You need at least PL1800+ for a monster to show up fairly consistently in persistent. A monster will never be deactivated once it reaches PL1000. PL1500 will always gift you high grade mats. I have a few PL1500 monsters and I've never seen them in persistent. I've only seen them in isekai and only for a short time. If you want a high kill count for a monster then its best you level it to the max and fully chaos it. My main monster has 12977 battles won and 898 killing blows.

About 1500 crystal packs to PL 1800. 5603 packs to max PL. Then 2520 chaos tokens to max all chaos upgrades.
