you should try a legendary elemental rapier of slaughter. If you like banshee already, then a slaughter rapier will blow your mind. Because, banshee does not help you keep up your spirit stance indefinitely. In fact, it's successfully hitting an enemy with a physical attack that fills the player's Overcharge bar by a 5-10%, plus any successful Counter-Attack will give 5-10% of overcharge. Banshee only helps to keep the spirit bar high, but that can easily be done with draughts & potions. And slaughter just makes your game play faster.
By using ethereal, your burden is lower, hence your evade is hihger. That means you receive less attacks, and you do less counter-attacks. And less overcharge.
But what you're doing is not wrong of course. Just slower.
Yes, but out of personal preference I don't like using draughts & pots, I don't like spending credits on them, having to use action buttons and keeping an eye on how many turns are left before I need to use another consumable.
This way I only have to keep track of 2 buffs: regen and heartseeker that have a pretty long uptime. I also use spirit shield on auto-cast and because I'm not max level with peerless gear, I do get quite a few hits taking large chunks of my spirit. Way more than the 1 spirit per turn I need to upkeep spirit stance, so none of it is wasted, yet.
That was a personal trade-off, perhaps at 500 when my natural spirit regeneration is in balance with how much I need, i'll switch my Banshee to a Balance. I do have full savage so the extra crit really pays off for me.
I'm also wearing full light armor of the arcanist, so I don't need to consume mana pots/draughts either. This gives me more crit power and attack speed, I specifically like the attack speed bonus because it means I have to keep less track of my own buffs. (more attacks before I need to rebuff)
Trade off is of course I take heavy hits, hence why I love the Banshee to continuously refill my spirit bar.
I'm aware of the evade issue, I also did not upgrade my arcanist armor to have the extra evade, but the void damage makes it worth it to me. I only need a few more counter-attacks at the moment, it's pretty well balanced, as soon as I have to fight more than 4 opponents my action points never run out.
So i'm looking for neat legendary shield of the barrier to give me that last 4% extra block, this is what I currently have
m. shield of the barrier. It's pretty good for a magnificent but I'm looking forward to the upgrade.
Effectively I started wearing light armor because long-long-time ago I couldn't afford cloth/heavy. (Crystal phazon is still 200k each) so i adjusted my playstyle for the most bang for my buck and I've gotten attached. I mostly fight while listening to a pod-cast or watching TV so I like to have to spend as little attention as possible.
And because I'm a light armor user and might in the future try a dual wield build, which requires the evade, I pre-sorted on the ethereal so it's a dual investment. If my current Evade is too high, I can simply lower my agility by redistributing points, which is what I've done currently. (I got 50% evade)
The more my block/parry improve, the more I can stack the agility back on for the speed/defense ;p. I really want that better shield.
