By my tests [ https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?s=&am...t&p=5800380 ], the Shortsword performed similarly to a Rapier. But that only goes for my conditions at the time (high level player, high ADB, full forge and DD5).

For conditions less than these, Rapier has the advantage. Likewise, I assume that for conditions higher than this, Shortsword takes advantage.

Unfortunately the only test I did after those old ones was during this year's Easter event, when I had already acquired DD6.

As you can see, the difference was small.

Iskekai last season: shortsword of slaughter could be bought for max 1m early season. Rapier of slaughter was way more expensive. And in tower, shortsword performed fine. Decent parry, decent damage. I had no problems with getting to floor 70.

Got my block up to 50% (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Doing some REs first to test but I feel like I can finally get off IWBTH soon and start playing The Real Game.

I would clearly reforge Greshnik's shortsword if using for 1H. Even if you believe that Overpower is not bad for 1H (it is arguably as good as Fatality but can also be viewed as worse than Swift Strike) it is generally accepted that Butcher is somewhat better than Fatality for 1H rapier, and Butcher would be even more preferable on a shortsword because of its ADB, which is the sole reason shortsword is preferred by some over rapier in 1H style.

If you are against being picky with IW that is still no reason to keep that. Because Fatality is inferior and possibly Overpower even more so. When reforging you will easily end up with a much better 3-potency such as Butcher 3, Fatality 1, Overpower 5 or many other combinations, while expending minimal shards with such an easy requirement.

Though being obsessed with perfect IW has its faults, it can be more of a travesty to fail to invest the credits to achieve a decent IW (especially if you later highly upgrade that equipment which can waste more credits in comparison). If you keep that IW you sort of turn your shortsword into a rapier that inflicts Blood Wound instead of Penetrated Armor.

edit: If it is just intended to be a temporary weapon and you will soon replace it, then that IW is fine to keep.
