QUOTE(mouisaac @ Mar 30 2020, 23:45) A very small achievement...I've adopted 4 cats (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Wow (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) If only I had the credits, I would have bought that PSWD. But yeah...hath barons are what makes HV go around, I guess. EDIT: Also finally won myself a Gold Lottery Ticket, so now I can sit back and not enter any more lotteries until something I want actually comes up. I went from level 15~->200 in a bit over 3 days. It still feels like I have zero clue what I'm doing, but hey bigger numbers, so that's cool.

With that shitload of confectioneries and star, obviously. I would say you are leveling too fast to get a sense of what HV is.

Aye, but I'm assuming it'll catch up to me at some point. Not looking forward to the imminent brick wall but eh. I do wish there were more hand-holdy write-ups on progression. Or maybe there are and I'm just that bad at finding them. This post has been edited by emptysx: Apr 2 2020, 08:27

The first page of the Ask the Experts thread is pretty good for that sort of thing. You will probably hit the 'brick wall' around the mid-late 300s where it'll start being much slower than you're used to (but still fast in HV terms) and it starts getting slow around 450 these days (those cookies really, really add up). Don't level too hard; take your time to get used to how it plays and learn the game itself, or you'll probably end up making some expensive, inefficient choices later based on gut feelings. Ask questions as often as you like in Ask the Experts. Use it a lot.

Ah, I don't mind slower progression so much as I hope I don't reach a point where I have to start lowering the difficulty on things I was previously able to do. I'm going to take your assuredly well-reasoned advice on progression and completely ignore it. I remember seeing the same advice on the first page, but that just seems rather dull. I'd rather go fast until I get myself into a terrible situation, and then either un-fuck myself with my funds or just quit. Granted, quitting would be a bit BM after accepting some freebies, so I'd probably send apology credits/unbound exq+ stuff before disappearing. Also, can I have some more concrete examples on what you had in mind for the latter part?

Sure, I guess. Bidding too high on equipments that aren't particularly useful. Judging gear entirely by percentiles. Expecting miracles from switching to expensive equip types (radiants, slaughters, etc). Forging gear that isn't worth forging. Burning energy drinks to play more when you don't have drop trainings to make it profitable (your choice on this one). Shrining trophies. Soul Catcher. Way more things than that. And those are just outright mistakes... misjudging what's going to be a good upgrade for you can stall your progress by a pretty long time too. If you want to speedrun the game, learn it as best you can. But no worries, don't stress about it if you don't care. edit: fyi, levelling up makes the game slower, not faster. You get a little more survival out of it as a trade. Your choice on what's important there. This is one reason why people recommend taking advantage of the game at lower levels as long as possible. Got a miraculous survival. Kept going *click* *click* *click*, didn't see I had gotten into the fatal "1 HP, next turn you DIE!!!" condition, but as I said, a miracle happened this time, the monster I was clicking died the turn I got the condition, so my clicks had no effect, and I was able to heal (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I had been saving up on daily hath income for a while, which is what took me so long. I bit the bullet and bought the last 500 the moment my credits were enough though. I really hope it was worth it when I play later lol Good luck on saving up, don't lose to the temptation of getting something else! This post has been edited by Ubershank: Apr 2 2020, 22:11

Made it through 83/90 rounds without pony refreshment...
Still managed to barely finish arena without using any items despite fairly bad luck with channeling and gems. Wasn't able to cast much (cheap 1 target) Imperil though. My deprecating proficiency currents sits at 407.39 at level 383.

Do 1h heavy and when you'll meet the brick wall, you will be a brick wall too. And you will win the clash.

Unlocked Monster Lab Slots 69 and 70 (138 and 140). That leaves me with...*checks*...another 6212 Chaos Tokens?! Damn, that'll still take me forever.

Aye, that's the plan. I think I committed to heavy before it was advisable, but I'm past that point now, so eh. I'm liking 1h's brainlessness so I don't think I'll be swapping to mage for a good long while, if at all.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) Level 400, I HATE MY DAMN LUCK! I SHOULD NOT HAVE REACHED THIS LEVEL UNTIL A WEEK. However, I had an accident in my leg (Now I know more or less how Tenboro feels), and I could not play continuously due to the heat and the discomfort of the pain that I had in the leg, and I was going out to make emergency purchases. I did not have the time to spend the stamina I wanted continuously, and besides that I have not obtained anything good from which to obtain credits lately. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) If nothing good starts to come out, I'm going to have to resort to the trick of continually failing the pony riddler, to see if I lose as little as 15 stamina points.
