I think I recall that you said you hadn't played in a while, but you should probably upgrade your equipment. I could beat Triple Trio and the Tree on PFUDOR without much difficulty from the moment I unlocked it at level 250.

At such low level you don't need good equipment though, because in the current version of this game things are easier at low level. At level 420 you will need decent equipment.

It does work. The effect is just not as strong at the previous levels.
Token III was one of the perks I wanted first, and I don't regret it.
