Can it really be worth it to use Magnificent equipment over good Legendary (or Peerless) just because of repair costs? Hmm. Does anyone else at high level do that?

It does not compensate simply because the durability of a Magnificent is less than a Legendary / Peerless.

The durabilities aren't different by much: a Mag with 397 and a reserve piece with 391 against a Peerless with 400. When it comes to repairs, only the Energy Cells matter because I've salvaged 10,000 each of Scrap Metal/Wood/Cloth from Grindfest junk. By calculating the last point before another Energy Cell is required, every repair cycle with a Mag saves me 3 ECs.

The Magnificents also have better attack bonuses than the Peerless, which matter more than their defensive qualities. If I need health, I'd rather keep health and mana draught effects active than do less damage.

Yeah even though Magnificents have slightly less durability, they have half the repair costs or something. It's another mechanic layered over the condition, described in the wiki.

But Magnificents don't have more attack than Peerless. The reason that was the case is that your Peerless Power Leggings are from a short-lived, old glitch version of Hentaiverse. I'm not even sure that version of the game had a version number because it was more like a glitch that got fixed fast. I wasn't playing back then, maybe others can elaboratee This isn't the same as the old Legendary equipments that have uncapped minimum rolls.

So you mean you save whole 540 by using Mag equipment? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Ehm, how long does it take to make 540 credits? Two minutes? One? Not even? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hell if I know how long it takes to earn 540c. All I know is it means I've saved an estimated minimum of 550 ECs this year. It's probably a bit higher if I count the ECs from salvage.

That means you have saved 550 * 200c (or 180c if you have clipper) = 110k in ONE YEAR.

You can earn that in a single day at your level without much effort, just by doing a few arenas.

So this is not a reason to use Mags, imho.

If we speak of forging costs thou', things are different; that would possibly be a valid reason to use (good) Mags instead of (mediocre) Leg. I don't know for sure, 'cause I haven't done the math, but for heavy forging (let's say beyond 20 something) i reckon the difference increases quickly.

But that is a one-time cost, so after having heavily forged a good Mag, you should start to slowly forge a Leg/Peerless anyway, if you have it, while you use the forged mag in the interim period. Just my personal opinion (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Oh, come on. You cant tell me that is actually an amount you should care about. I have allready this week given away much more for free. I mean, to compare this, this is less than my average income for doing the Learning Curves Arena and that is the second arena. So what the hell? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

On the contrary. In my case, I'm already going through as many arenas as I can. Since time is already fully utilized, your suggestion means I'd have to spend just as much time fighting as well as sacrifice more for no extra benefit. It's a net loss short- and long term.

In reverse order:

"So what the hell?": Unlike most players, I treat repair savings as dividends and salvage as arbitrage.

"You cant tell me that is actually an amount you should care about.": People get screwed over for even thinner margins in this game, in other games, and in real life. So yes, I'll tell you it's an amount I care about.

Are you mage or melee? It's probably more noticeable as mage, but are you also considering the costs of extra pots you are using for wearing mag vs leg gear?

Melee.

With Scavenger and Luck of the Draw maxed, I loot draughts faster than they can be used. A mana draught alone is powerful enough that I don't bother using potions unless by accident or in an extreme emergency.

Fair enough, in that case for you mag gear works well enough for arenas. Interesting idea and a slightly different min/max strategy.

Well, i guess that depends greatly upon your stamina usage. When you dont use enough stamina to even justify a daily ED, the candy doesnt do anything for you. But when you use even enough stamina to use multiple ED on a daily basis, i guess it is nice to save some ED.

But funny how fast the ED usage does drop once you have reached the 500. I play more or less the same as before. But instead of at least one daily, i am down to maybe two per week. A month ago i would actually even be happy about a candy or two. Right now i would not actually care that much.
