No! the fuck's wrong with me? I don't even play 1H anymore and the market's not that great now + the stats aren't excellent, well to the box it goes

With the last big update, proficiency can now go 20% above your level. I assume for levels past 500 the amount of proficiency experience needed is vast, so you might as well spend some credits there. I'm sure other people have crunched the numbers, but I think especially for maging this can let you drop a piece of cotton gear for phase at certain points. Also, why not? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I always thought assimilator is just for prof to stay just a bit more ahead of level (since afaik prof gain is tied to exp gained in battle), but when you hit 500 its just chill times since prof just gonna keep going up and it isn't racing against your level anymore, so you gonna easily get that sweet .32 in no time. Apparently it takes way longer to build then what i thought.
Good thing i started training assimilator recently.

Yep, sadly gaining prof gets harder and harder the more it levels up.
At this point even burning 44 stamina points (daily stamina + ED) only brings me around ~0.1 prof.
And I still need around 9 prof points to reach 1.0 prof with gloves + shoes (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

After 148 DWD PFUDOR logs that I've kept track of, I have either 16 or 17 Legendary Clear bonuses (I have one log with a Legendary and Magnificent drop. Without the equipment ID of the Magnificent I don't know which one was the clear bonus). I think that's a pretty good number of logs to get a reasonable guess on what the odds of a Legendary clear is from DWD PFUDOR, which would be either 10.8% or 11.5%

did some exploratory longsword/power runs with two pieces forged to 5 and three of my old unforged self-drop powers helmet armour gauntlets leggings boots

PF arenas are mad easy unfeathered with scrolls, though a bit slower than shade, which can be expected considering the difference in forging. 92 round PF IWs are doable when feathered, though with the current gear it would be faster with a mace

now i'll be interested to see how much i need to improve my gear until power pulls ahead of shade in arenas and longsword ahead of mace in IWs. i already have all the gear i need for this, just need to fuse, forge and IW it

wait, you still haven't reached 1.0? I thought you said some time ago you were 17 or something over, this kinda bumps me out seeing you're already level 500, how much ahead are you in div prof?
I'm currently 886 div prof (cotton cap) and I was planning to get cotton gloves hoping that in 10-15 levels and more forging I'd reach prof 1.0

I replaced my balance helmet with a forged 5 slaughter helmet, but I didn't have any improvement in term of turns.....maybe I should get used to my new monsterbation setting and also try not to imperil. See if there's any difference

Except you did one thing very wrong: contrarily to an Estoc or Mace, Longsword is to be played without attack speed bonus for maximum damage output. And of course, the drawback: you need to be able to tank even better. This is the reason why I'm planning to play Power Longsword in the future.

what makes you think that? in arenas i turned off haste as i've been doing with shade. in IW i need to forge more before i can do that

I have 524.5 base.
Result is 990 with shoes + gloves and 1010 with gloves + cap (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)
To get 1.0 with shoes + gloves you need good rolls and a lot of grinding, I don't think you can do it with less than 530 base prof even with peerless drops (and I definitely have good clothe: gloves, shoes).

You can use a prof calculator, but it seems unlikely that a bit of forging and some levelling up will let you reach 1.0 prof easily.

Not really, but the less combined prof you have the more you will need to "grind" exp.

With attack speed you're slowing down BW damage.
