What is a pre-convocation?
What is this ranking system you speak of, and why are you so far from the top?
in my case (public teacher), it means the school sends a bunch of mails asking who's available and who's not. those that aren't available for too many times are eventually removed from the ranking for that year.
then, they proceed to call those people from those available. first one gets the place and a bit of points to boost their rankings.
and i'm so far from the top since i just started. and also because i don't have additional titles, i guess...

How long have you been studying? Everyone needs a 1 week holiday every 2 years, IMO. Minimum. Like, not just time off work, but actually GOING somewhere different to relax. And travelling for funerals/weddings/etc doesn't count.
hmmm... university? 8 years, almost non-stop. probably a month holiday total - a month and half with christmas and easter and such.
eventually i reached the point in which i was able to do 5 exams in the matter of a single period (one month) and that if i ended the period with more than three free days before re-starting lessons i felt guilty. yep, pretty much like that... when i started to work it felt a completely different world: only 8~9 hours to do, two free days per week and paid nonetheless (IMG:[
