I don't scan often, I just know these creatures by reputation plus when they slap the taste out of me I tend to look at the numbers of damage they did. If you see Hong, In Memory/Memoriam of whatever, Deadly Angel, or a few of the top shelf celestials, you eventually remember them - when they show up, it's ouch time. Some of the sprites are also a really deadly problem at IWBTH level - you might have to scan for them if you don't know them by name. If you have multi-target Sleep, hit those bad boys with it and take them out of the fight ASAP. Also target the ones you can't sleep with a Weaken spell to stop the critters.
And pray that they come closely grouped together. At my level, you are guaranteed to run into more than one infamously dangerous mob in every RE.
Ah, right. I don't really pay much attention to who pops off my SoL but now that you mention it it's usually those In Memory guys and Dark Angel. Thanks for the Sleep tip, it really made PFUDOR REs more manageable. Gotta try Confuse sometime with it being bundled already.

you will soon learn to remember them :P
meanwhile, if you really need there's [
hvlist.niblseed.com]
sir jenga's monster dbusually they tend to have very powerful MP/SP attacks. the SP can be Void type, which is a desgrace for everyone. all in all, they tend to be quite dangerous, especially for heavy players who have low magical defenses
Thanks for the link, I'll try to keep them names in mind :D Yep, true about the magical defense. It's weird though that I still feel hella squishy even when against physical damage. Guess that's just the tradeoff with using Power Armor as opposed to Plate.
EDIT: Just tried Flying Spaghetti Monster for the first time and beat it on IWBTH. You can basically force a 1 v 1 with Sleep (this spell's really awesome for last round fights, thanks again Jacquelope) since there's just 4 of them. Even with all the buffs and debuffs the Monster still hurts:
QUOTE
383 3 Flying Spaghetti Monster casts Puff of Logic, and hits you for 3186 void damage
383 2 Your spirit shield absorbs 12753 points of damage from the attack into 135 points of spirit damage.
383 1 Flying Spaghetti Monster evades your attack.
Got right back at him though:
QUOTE
413 2 Merciful Blow hits Flying Spaghetti Monster for 1337758 void damage
But yeah, just really happy that I didn't waste 5 tokens haha. Oh and Confuse sucks ass.
