Even when this will be hard to prove, my guess is that it would be paying off much sooner. I mean it increased the overall dropchance. What include everthingelse, except credits. Doenst it?

personally i suggest to keep it always slotted. chances are that you'll rarely use it, but it's still cheap for what it offers.

Actually I use it in every round past round 50-60, because the guys hit way too hard there and I spend too much time to heal for my taste. Hell my new shortsword better be twice better than the old one.

1. Not until I drop one. Don't wanna throw millions in it.
2. I do use IWBTH for the first IW run to avoid getting 3 potencies at once. And now I'm getting used to Silence+Sleep then sweep everything. I barely cast Cure anymore even in the last rounds.
